Saturday Night Fever...
How about you let me spend the weekend with you? It's an offer unlike nay I have made before but you all know how I feel about the listeners of this show.
Get It On...at the weekend starts this Saturday night at five past six.
The new show will run throughout the summer and will be a chance for us to have a bit of fun in a new timeslot. I'm quite excited about it as I rather like the idea of being part of the fun of Saturday night. I always used to have the radio on as I got ready to go out, teasing my ginger locks into a quiff and trying to get out the crease my mother had ironed into my jeans.
In fact my first radio shows were in the same timeslot as this new one. Hopefully I'll be a bit more polished than I was twenty years ago!
The show will be a good chance to catch up with some of the songs I've not had a chance to play, plus we'll have some more spontaneous themes. I would also like you to choose the opening track. Who is going to have the honour of choosing the first ever song of a brand new show? Suggestions on the blog please and all will be revealed on Saturday night!

I would like the show to reflect this, and I suggest
'A Day to Myself' - Clifford T. Ward
Probably more suitable for closing the show than opening it.

I've just checked out the inshore forecast for the Forth Saturday & Sunday. Looks like we're in for a Force 6 from the North East. Whilst the boat would cope with this, the swell height of 6' entering the harbour at Dunbar after mid-tide doesn't look too attractive and I don't want to risk bumping the keels all the way along the channel.
I won't be over this weekend it seems! Maybe next week....
Bryan, play Fleetwood Mac's 'Storm' for us on Saturday please!

The best song to open any radio show is:
Do Anything You Wanna Do - Eddie and the Hot Rods.
#34 - DC, could you not leave your yoal outside the harbour and take the dinghy in?
You could re-enact the D Day landings for Scotch Git. Capt Ramius and Pablo would break out the slug guns and fire on you as you row in, make it more authentic. Norrie's JCB would make a good pretend tank while Roxy John could hurl half bricks from its big buckety thing.
Worth a thought.
