It's raining in Glasgow...
Just in case you're lucky enough to have a sunny day where you are I thought I'd let you see how lucky you are by sharing this view of the view out of the window this afternoon.
You can imagine how thrilled I am that I brought my bike into work today. There is a chance that it will have stopped by 8pm, but I am not holding out much hope.
I think we've all just resigned ourselves to this. The sunny spell we seemed to have back in spring now seems like a lifetime ago and the summer has just been a series of cancelled picnics and sodden sporting events.
Miss Babs organised a lovely picnic as a treat for the team last week, but like most people's plans for al fresco fun, the rain gubbed us. She did a lovely spread but sadly even the glamorous surroundings of the ´óÏó´«Ã½ canteen was no match for a tartan rug by the river.
The only event of my summer that hasn't been affected by the rain was the Great Scottish Swim which I hosted at the weekend. When you are swimming for a mile in the outdoors and the water is 14 degrees then I suppose the rain is the least of your worries. 'Wetsuits are compulsory for this event' said the warning notice. My worry is that if this weather keeps up then that's the advice we'll be giving out at the Great Scottish Run next week as well!

1) It relates to a period of untruthfulness when you were 17
2) It's because you're in Glasgow (this being the East Coaster's knee-jerk answer - it was gorgeous driving from Berwickshire to Livingston this morning)

I need a rest! I will not try to tell anyone that Inverurie / Aberdeen had a med like climate, but it is certainly less wet!
