Oh, forgot there would be a new thread up and wrote on the last one. Well surprisingly enough it wasn't important. However, the other thing I was about to say was
I still don't get how Last fm works. I keep on trying, but continue to be baffled. Last night suddenly out of nowhere there was a really stonking track playing, sounded like Stevie Nicks with a great bass riff going on, no not Stevie Nicks doing the bass, well maybe it was, but anyway, could I find out what the track was? Could I expletive. Then I'd get two tracks on at the same time and I was quite demented. Even more than usual.
Where am I going wrong?

Uncle Vic did an excellent job this evening I thought, she said, not wishing to be negative on such a lovely evening.

Well, this will be interesting.

Momentarily, I was jubilant when Vic announced the theme for Tuesday -I've longed for the opportunity to hear some really great guitar work on GIO, but Bryan just doesn't seem to be interested.

I had to chip into Children In Need to get Blackmail, Eric Stewart's finest moment, played.

But inevitably, we're slightly stuffed: great songs to learn on the guitar isn't quite the same as great things to hear on the guitar - it could even preclude great guitar playing.

So prepare for another outing for the obligatory early Beatles and the obligatory 'tears in heaven' token Eric Clapton track.

Miss Babs, can you clarify what's going on here?

If it's as per the blog description, I'm with one of the two things that everyone attempts - Sunshine Of Your Love - Cream. The other, I could do without.

....Well no goals yet but in what is shaping up to be an interesting match, we've already had two yellow cards. The first, when DC of Cellardyke was carded for a remark believed to be aimed at one of the Erskine Team. Our trackside reporter believes it was directed at the Erskine Captain's playing ability and despite his protests of innocence that it was tongue in cheek, he has now picked up his 2nd yellow of the season. The second yellow was for Jim the Erskine captain, which I presume was for retaliation although will need to watch the replay first as I was sound asleep at the time. Still Goalless here.

What's all this fuss about?
There's alway been an issue on this blog by those with a greater sense of self perceived style than substance! Also the whinin' is so cyclical you can set the seasons by it!
Look, what to do is buy yer shout on Amazon, cdbaby, cduniverse etc. have it sent direct to Pacific Quay, embarrass the GIO Team into playing your exclusive pick of the day... sorted, just ask 'enri!

Hello bloggers hope you are all having a great weekend.

A wee bit of disquiet about the themes but hey:

Reminds me of the Boss in Cardiff one of the best gigs I have been at, took my blind nephew down and the Springsteen people were incredibly helpfull and generous. Springsteen opened the show with this track as a nod to Welshman Edmunds.

Haven't looked at the blog for a few weeks but nice to see nothing changes.

JfE has been playing a blinder with references to the "guidelines" and frequent references to the inner thoughts of the production team. The regular bloggers take the bait and the paranoia really kicks in when he scores a perfect five during one of last weeks show.

Now all the toys are scattered all over the nursery and all the players are throwing tantrums. You couldn't make it up.

Oh and as an aside could you play anything by Kylie on Monday night as she is a "WEE" cracker. [Maybe that's too obvious or perhaps not close enough to theme to count]

My attempts to learn Grandfather's Clock have caused the appearance of a number of For Sale signs locally.

aha! I knew there was someone. Now if I was to put you in touch with a banjo-player, and Henri, who's always banging on about something therefore could be the drummer - hey presto! That's the band's name BTW. I get the royalties.

I've already been in a band. I got kicked out by the rhythm guitarist, a sub-postmaster, who was jailed for embezzlement shortly thereafter and has subsequently died. Promise me this will be better.

Well you didn't die and surely getting kicked out was better than going to Barlinnie? What's the problem? Now we have half a movie script as well as a band. This can only mean success. Just keep practising. I'll get some songs down - it can't be that difficult, all you have to do is find one familiar-sounding line and then repeat it. It says so in the Bruce's Guide to Songwriting.

You go out with your mates for a boys day out around Glasgow incorporating attending the world's most boring cup final, have way too much to drink, end up having a fish supper on Byres Road cause you're too drunk to behave in a restaurant and saunter back to Milngavie in a taxi at enormous expense.

Guess What?

All the action was on the blog.

Still, it was a great day out with old friends. It's decades since I ate a fish supper on the street. It was a surprisingly difficult thing to do. I had to hold this burning hot supper with one hand and bite open the tomato sauce sachet whilst holding it with the other.

Despite being completely plastered, I can confirm that it was a truly excellent fish supper - Mario's Plaice (formerly MacPhee's).

We're thinking our next away day might be Leftield at Rockness... that really would be old men behaving disgracefully.

Cheer up everyone....I know what you mean, Jan, but i feel certain Adam's comments were supposed to be a light hearted bit of fun and I'm certain DC intended the same, - it's easy in a format like this to be misunderstood because you can see the words but not hear the tone nor the intention.

JfE is a great contributor to GIO, understands the guidelines and even gets a mention in the promotional video about the programme -this blog is absolutely in a class of it's own,I think, something we all contribute to in our own eccentric way.

Guess What - I've just down'd a double dose of 'Resolve' - and I thought it was for hangovers... obviously it fools you into thinking you can fix anything.

This is a music blog but it's also a wee community full of banter fun and discussion. As a result of that we occasionally poke fun at one another. We've all done it and probably all been on the receiving end. If we all took offence and called the moderators there wouldn't be a blog. DC and Adam are always slagging each other, Norrie gets it off everyone for his typos, Henri gets it for his long winded posts and cd deliveries to pacific quay, I get it occasionally for my lists, etc etc. This has all kicked off cos Jim who has joined in the 'Klaxon' gag was pleased to have 5 songs on his list played one night. So adam suggested having an ers pick. Obviously poking fun at his selections. Now if Jim wants to take offence at that then why is he joining in the Klaxon gags that run from week to week. This is a fun place to be if everyone's willing to chill and take as well as give. Yes it's a music blog but if you just want lists of suggestions then they can be found on facebook. Not a criticism by the way, just an observation. I'm on facebook but prefer the blog. Jim,lighten up a bit. You're much more fun when you're joining in the fun.

A very long time ago a pal played us his Stefan Grossman LP, (Vinyl, kids - oops, none of them around here. Are there?) Absolutely loved the finger-pickin' guitar, went and saw the man himself in a town near Cellardyke and you'd have sworn there was more than one person playing if you'd had your eyes shut.
