The great thing about our A-Z of themes is that we have got lots of brilliant new theme ideas. I'm hanging on to every suggestion that comes in and will try and feature as much as I can of the ones that didn't make it first time around. You seemed to like 'jangly guitars' for J so thanks to all who contributed. For K we are going to go with Andy's suggestions of the artists who share their names with Kings and Queens so that's artists like George Harrison or Elizabeth Fraser from the Cocteau Twins. Let's have your suggestions of pop royalty then...

I've requested this many times with zilch success.. it was heading for Pigs Might Fly but you've stepped in and rescued the situation. Well Done, Bryan! Really interesting record from their seminal 'Four Calendar Cafe' album... Elizabeth's voice comes out of the ether, other worldly.... I feel certain the listening audience will be transfixed'. Very accessible and radio friendly which isn't true of all the band's work.

The 80's was when I started playing Dave Doubledecks in the days when mobile discos meant dashing home from work, fighting through the kids toy cupboard to get the twelve boxes of records at the back of the cupboard and then off to play some function or other before coming home knackered and have to put all the record boxes back at the back of the cupboard again. I mean where's the fun now of carrying 18 zillion songs around on a wee chip.
The beginning of the decade saw many student roller discos. We used to play musical chairs on roller skates in those days before health and safety and hadanaccidentnotyourfault had been invented.
