Highyway to L....
John from Jordanhill suggested Landscape, Gary in Ardrossan came up with Last Dances and Roger in Uddingston wanted Long Songs. There were plenty of suggestions for L night in our A-Z, but Miss Babs was drawn to 'Loathing and Lust'! Joe suggested the theme and it can include songs about either. However, if you can come up with a song that covers both then top marks for you.
I'm taking a couple of weeks off ( to recover from the shame of my 80s day outfit) and Vic Galloway will be looking after the show. Get in touch with him in the usual ways...

Lust and Loathing. I don't remember ever hearing Atlantic Soulsters The Persuaders on the show before. They recorded the original versions of the likes of Gladys Knights 'Best Thing that Ever Happened to me' and Palmer's Some Guys Have all the Luck. They also did the original of what might well be the Klaxon song for Monday but their version is brilliant.
(just make sure you get the 1971 version cos the Drifters couldn't hold a candle to this lot for line up changes)
Thin Line between Love and Hate / The Persuaders
Their platinum album is a must for any soul fans

Vic/Miss Babs, this is from the album 'A Question of Time', and fits in nicely with the henri hannah campaign to hear one of Scotland's truly internationally influential, probably only (and truly under rated) musical superstar - on Scotland's national radio station. On the surface of it, this seems a routine expectation, but it has been denied thus far.Click on 'A Question of Time Jack Bruce' and look at the album personnel.Awesome.
