David Bowie & The Lower Third - Cant Help Thinking About Me

although his first recording was the single Liza Jane that was under the Davie Jones, this was the first David Bowie release in 1965. It is a great track and much to everyone's surprise Bowie played the song live in 1999, available on the Storytellers CD. I don't think it was a surprise to Bowie and the band though as obviously they had rehearsed it.

I thought about it, Norrie, and discounted it because it was an EP.

My rationale was that there were, of course, a stunning collection of EP's by The Beatles which didn't count in terms of chart sales - only singles and albums were recorded.

Therefore, I moved onto 'The 59 Sound'.

I think it's time we heard The Gaslight Anthem on GIO?

Ah, if we're discounting EPs then the correct Bragg track is Days Like These (shame - I'd love it to be Levi Stubbs' Tears, and I don't see something as overtly political as Days Like These getting a GiO play)

You see, you learn something new every day, I didn't recall the EP charts - but in as much as there was a seperate EP chart, that seems to clarify that they were not 'singles'

Later editions of the Guinness Hits books list singles eps and albums placings for each artist. Don't think the EP charts lasted long to be fair.
