My cat, Austin, is very partial to robins & blackbirds and despite the fact that they're protected in law I've never been prosecuted! Now, even Austy, large moggy that he is, is a big fearty when it come to gulls of the "sea" variety. I would suggest you obtain a Bobcat or Lynx (not the stuff for blokes oxters tho) and these should be big enough to sort it.

as a bit of a follow-up, infact when John Mellecamp recorded 'Jack and Diane' on his American Fool album in 1982, he was still recording under the name John 'Cougar' Mellecamp. Now I feel like an anorak!

Top-gaff on the 'piano-player' Bryan. had to smile as it reminded me of my wedding day grooms speech when I was a little pre-occupied and complimented my mother-in-law on her great skill in making my wifes wonderfull 'breasts' instead of 'dress'. The place erupted!
