Tonight's 'repeat play' show was one of the busiest in ages and from The Womacks to The Waitresses it was packed solid with terrific tunes. I think it proves that there are some songs that you really do never tire of hearing. Don't know if I'll still feel that way about Justin Bieber in a year's time though. Perhaps as the flipside we should have done 'the songs you are utterly fed up with and never want to hear again' as a theme. However I suspect some of the same songs would have cropped up in both shows.
Friday's theme will actually be 'office party tunes' and you'll be delighted to know that there's a Black Lace CD behind the advent calendar window. Feel free to pick anything off that but if you can suggest a more credible playlist for the office party then I'd be grateful. What are the essential songs for this year's party that will have them all swinging around the water cooler?
Office party night Friday By happy coincidence that's when we're having ours. All bitching and back-stabbing set aside for one afternoon/ evening/ night (depending on how long you can stand it or what the bus service is like) of celebrating "what a great team" we all are. It seems to work every year. For one day, anyway.

Works for the rose-tinted spectacle brigade as well as the bah humbug lot.
I was at an office party last week as Corrie burned. As Kings of Leon came on it was mildly amusing to hear the whole dance floor sing yeah heh the street is on fire....
Queen of Clubs - KC and the Sunshine Band Thats The Way I Like It - KC and the Sunshine Band (Shake Shake Shake) Shake Your Booty- KC and the Sunshine Band Keep It Comin Love - KC and the Sunshine Band Give It Up - KC and the Sunshine Band and All Night Long - Lionel Ritchie
in that sort of 80s mood the day. (Got ma Miami Vice jecket on, DC. Still fits)
#17 Please, PP! Dont tell me anymore. I haven't felt so disillusioned since the time I saw Jon Pertwee swearing and chasing topless wimmin around in "Adventures of a Private Eye" in 1977.
When black lace recorded Mary Ann for eurovision they were sued for ripping off Smokie's Oh Carol and trying to sound like smokie. When Chris Norman left Smokie they recruited his soundalike Alan Barton from black lace and had hits all over Europe long after their halcyon days in the uk. The hits stopped suddenly just like their tour bus.
Isle of Man is in chaos because of the snow. Douglas is completely gridlocked and everybody at work has been sent home early. I am the only one left at work as I have to meet my daughter off the ferry which doesn't get in till 6pm, and there is more snow on the way.
Sleigh Ride by the Ronettes would be good, as using a sleigh is probably the only way I will get home. Hopefully in time for the second hour of the show.

So often we get Agadoo or The Conga on the radio while these (far superior, IMHO) songs are ignored.
