A good week...
I have to apologise to anyone whose weekend has been spoiled by an argument over music. Tonight's theme of 'the artists who divide your household' certainly led to some honest feedback including some from Captain Ramius about the tracks that have led to deep divisions between the bloggers and the GIO team. Who knew that the Incredible String Band would come between us?
It's been a cracking week of themes and tonight was a great laugh and terrific way to round off the week. Thursday's theme of 'songs that would make great films' was my favourite and also the most popular one. Despite the ´óÏó´«Ã½'s finest music brains (well - me and Miss Babs) working on the themes for this week it was lovely to think that an 11 year old girl called Eve came up with the theme of the week....

Bloggers:
* Quirky songs
* The Slits
* Prog rock
* Tull
* The Incredible string band
* Folk
GiO team:
* Dignity
* The Proclaimers
* The biggest hit for the album/artist
* Country
Thing is: how can you love one of Country & Folk but not the other?

The Slits? Not in my name!!! And why is Country music being maligned? Bryan adores Kate Rusby. And if he is not quite so fond of Billy Bragg, that's something he and I have in common. Don't even get me started on Morrissey...

I'm not maligning Country - as my editorial comment suggests, they overlap so much that it's very hard to love one and hate the other. I think my record of requests will bear that out.
I do note Bryan's love of Kate Rusby, but find it amazing that she's about the only folk artiste he'll play without severe prodding, particularly when you listen to the likes of June Tabor & Eliza Carthy (whose voice is what Kate's wants to be when it grows up).
So, as a result and a peace offering, can we please have one of
* Oysterband with June Tabor -
* Eliza Carthy - (the Paul Weller track)
