The early 70's original - and quite original too, only Eddie Kendricks produced a hit single with quite so much xylophone/vibrophone - (or is that Evelyn Glennie I hear in the backing track) complete with drum solo, a percussion masterpiece - and just on 4:00 minutes. Hugely under rated at the time.
A joy, love it, still think the original has never been bettered.

Up the Ladder To the Roof has always been one of my favourite Motown tracks but I had no idea how great these albums are. The Frank Wilson produced tracks among others are stunning.
So impressed I thought I'll one click that on Amazon, however, it turns out to be a limited edition and the cheapest copy is a heady £156:00 .... but I think it might be worth it.
It's amazing this stuff isn't better known...there's another compilation of even later work, but I haven't got to it yet but it's beddy time, the morons have stumbled home early, must be skint.
