The "product" I would like the Dragons to invest in is relatively new but has a proven track record, some firm orders and has some innovative marketing techniques. These include performing in the Scottish Parliamnet building, organising a Bob Dylan tribute night with many superb acts and acting as the house band, printing up your own vinyl lp and marketing it directly and even presenting on Radio Scotland now and then.

A fresh, young, exciting local "product". With your help Dragons we can expsoe this to a wider market:

#27 I thought you'd retired to the boudoir for the night - anyway, you got me thinking and if you can get £30,000:00 out of this lot for the equivilentof my record collection, you should be on The Apprentice - though I've never seen either. Because I run a business, I hate business programmes - apart form the one on Radio 4, 'In Business' which is genuinely facinating whether you run a business or not - The Bottom Line is quite good too.

It wouldn't cost £30,000:00 to replace my record collection.

Dragon's den? I have never watched it; me neither. I have nonetheless made two suggestions:
'Magic dragon theatre' by UTOPIA and 'The pitchman' by SAGA

[ yes there is a Canadian prog rock band by that name, you can find an article on wikipedia about them they are from Oakville]

The attraction of Dragon's Den.....Dragons Den?.....is that it's "REAL LIFE". It all starts with a ray of LIGHT , an idea, but you need to FEED it.....with Money!

as this show is about gettin money...how about "IF I WERE A RICH MAN"..from fiddle on the roof..as the dragons can usually sort out the fiddlers !!!!. or STAND AND DELIVER (cause they have to stand and deliver a beggin speech in order to get the cash..and once again the dragons usually shoot down the robbers!!!

Credit where it's due - last night's show was the best I've heard in a long, long time, with a distinct reduction in overplayed Klaxon material. I mean - avoiding the Monster Mash (which I love anyway) for Elvis Costello's Psycho? What a discovery that last one - I hadn't heard it before.

I also haven't heard Thomas Dolby's I Scare Myself in a very very long time, and had forgotten just how good it is, especially that trombone solo.

I would like to offer 20% of my listening time this evening in exchange for one of my requests actually being played for the first time ever (or £100,000).

My request is

Dragons... this product has nothing to prove having released 9 albums in the last 20 years. Covered by artists such as Joan Baez and collaborated with with the likes of Dar Williams and Lucy Kaplansky. Never played on GIO but requested several times... A huge crowd puller at festivals all over the UK... this is probably your final chance to acquire shares, cos after this (no doubt failed) attempt I am going to shut-up about him.

The passing of Nik Ashford hasn't really been properly acknowledged on GIO.

The passing of talented and well known people (Lennon, Amy etc) is usually accompanied by a temporary hike in their sales - therefore, although Nick & Valerie were prmarly songwriters, their work is likely to be highlighted in the coming weeks.

These Dragon types are always up for a quick punt - indeed, it is the short term nature of business objectives that has done most to destroy the results of our creativity: James Dyson can testify to this.

Therefore, any dragon worth their salt would be itching to get behind:

I never did get Elvis either, though I acknowledge that if there had been no Elvis, there would have been no Beatles... and then where would we be?
