More Songs About Buildings and Food
I've really enjoyed this week of themes and it would be good to get more like this which can run across the week.
Next week's themes are themed as well. They are all based around classic albums. For instance Springsteen's Born In The USA could inspire a night of folk who were.
We will start on Monday with the suggestion which inspired this theme. It came from Suzanne in Applecross and is based on Talking Heads' More Songs About Buildings and Food. Presumably with such an obvious title you don't need me to explain what kind of songs we will be looking for on Monday?
Have a great weekend all.

Incidentally, despite what you may have read elsewhere, this was the first anniversary of the the term 鈥淲ally鈥. At the festival in 1975, after all the bands had finished, the campfires were dwindling and most people were partied out, a young lad who had apparently been separated from his mate, was heard wandering around the campsite shouting 鈥淲ally!鈥 In order to help him several of us joined in with this shout and it was soon to be heard all over the campsite. I suspect that this was actually no help at all. The cry was not heard again until 1976 when one of my mates shouted it out to see if anyone remembered it. Sure enough, the cry was soon heard throughout the campsite from 1975 returnees who remembered being kept awake that night. 鈥淲ally鈥 then went on to be heard at festivals throughout the land. So the true meaning of the word wally is someone who is lost and can鈥檛 find his mate. Sorry it鈥檚 not a more interesting story, but I relate it to end the speculation of its origin. I have heard various other versions, but mine is fact. I can't think why anyone would want to know this.
