Eighty minutes with the Big Bad Wolf

Not for nothing is Dean Ryan known as the "Big Bad Wolf" of English rugby.

To witness the Gloucester head coach in action at close quarters is like observing a human time-bomb waiting to explode.

On Saturday at Coventry's Ricoh Arena, I found myself sat a couple of seats behind him as his side in the first EDF Energy Cup semi-final.

At times it was difficult to keep your eyes on the pitch, so riveting was the action on the touchline.

Six Nations Team of the Tournament

So the 10th Six Nations Championship is over, and we have a fourth different winner of the decade with Ireland belatedly joining France (four), England (three) and Wales (two) in the title-winning enclosure.

In fact is likely to take fewer Englishmen than on any of the five previous tours over the past 20 years since .

And if things get even worse for Martin Johnson's men, it is conceivable they could end up with their lowest Lions representation since only five England players departed for .
