There's a porn star who is about to enter a legal battle with Mariah Carey. Apparently Mariah objects to her name, because she thinks it's going to cause no end of confusion among the kind of people who a) enjoy an adult movie from time to time and b) don't really pause to read the DVD box properly in the adult movie shop.
And the reason for Mariah's distress? The actress's name is Mary Carey.
Mary's not giving in without a fight either, as she told Reuters: "I'm ready to battle Mariah over this because I've been Mary Carey for a long time...I think she's being silly."

Mary Carey HAS been around for a long time. Aside from her porn work, she also ran for the governor of California back in 2003 - it was a joke, of course, but she racked up enough votes to be a considerable challenge to the candidate who eventually won - Arnold Schwartzenegger.
So where was Mariah THEN!?!?!?!
Oh wait...Mary is also considering a recording career. Such is Mariah's concern.
Girlfriend needs to get over it, IMHO...
