The Politics Of Girls Aloud...Noel G on Green Day...Beyonce On Marriage...Mary J Blige And K-Fed On Britney...Iron Maiden vs Motorhead....

Here, taken from an interview they did with the Spectator, are a selection of some of the political thoughts had by the members of Girls Aloud. Don't snigger, they're cleverer than you think...

Sarah AloudSarah: "We need to make politics more user-friendly. It just isn't talked about in normal magazines and newspapers. We never get asked who we'd vote for. It could be a general question in an interview, but it isn't."

Cheryl: "We are too young to really remember the excitement of Labour getting into power. All we know is what's happening now, which is that Blair equals George Bush and the war in Iraq. So you wonder, 'Why did he take us to war?' It affects the young more than anyone because they've got to go out into it."

Cheryl: "Politicians know we get listened to by more young fans than they do. That's why David Cameron said he fancied me. He was just trying to be cool. I bet he couldn't name a single song of ours."

Nadine AloudNadine on the NHS: "My friend has been in education for eight years, training to be a nurse. She's working at Great Ormond Street, but she has to live in a hostel because she can't afford anywhere else. She's so disheartened that she's decided to go back to Northern Ireland...It puts the younger generation off that profession because there's no money in it."

Cheryl: "There should be adverts in the breaks during Coronation Street spelling it out in bullet points: This is what the Conservatives stand for. This is what Labour stands for."

Nicola: "No 18-year-old wants to watch Gordon Brown doing his whole speech - turn it over!"

The Importance Of Being Honest
Noel Gallagher on why it's not OK for Green Day to filch song ideas.

Noel Gallagher"If you listen, you'll find ['Boulevard Of Broken Dreams'] is exactly the same arrangement as 'Wonderwall'. They should have the decency to wait until I am dead (before stealing my songs). I, at least, pay the people I steal from that courtesy."

Oh be quiet, Lord Grumpy, the alive ones have got better things to be doing than suing you, is all...

Toxic De-frocked Syndrome
Mary J Blige on why Britney Spears deserves a bit of space, pants or no pants.

Mary J Blige"I know that at some point in our lives we've had a situation like Britney's, meaning that we all were with someone we thought loved us and actually didn't. We make mistakes."

Speaking of K-Fed, Star magazine reports that Kevin is threatening a tell-all book if Britney doesn't pay him big money. Nice.

His snitch said: "Kevin is either hoping a publisher will pay him big money for the book, or that Britney will cough up more cash than what is in their prenuptial agreement to keep him from spilling the beans."

Yeah, who knew K-Fed would turn out not to be a catch? What, ALL of you?

Show Be What You Got
See if you can guess who's in charge in the Beyonce/Jay Z relationship...

Beyonce"You can't rush a man into anything - whether it's a relationship, marriage or having children. When he is ready, he will let you know."

Tottenham Rockspur, Anyone?
Never met anyone famous? Take up football...

A youth team sponsored by Iron Maiden (they're called Maiden Youth, which is kind of brilliant) is set to play a match against another youth team from Lincoln, who are sponsored by Lemmy from Motorhead. Lemmy's team is called the Greenbank under-10s, which is less ROCK, sadly, but they do have the Motorhead logo on their shirts, which is MORE ROCK THAN IT IS POSSIBLE TO BE.
