Corinne Bailey RaeSomewhere in a mountain lair far far away, a group of scientists are building a super race of musical clones. Positioned between the boy-band and girl-band department, and the pop’s-not-working-let’s-try-another-swing-album department, there’s the bland R’n’B songstrel department.

In these dens, the UNIQUE SOCIAL SENSITIVITY of marketing people and the CLINICAL RATIONALE of the scientist FUSE to create musical monsters. Their mission is first to live in our midst and learn our ways before INVADING OUR CHARTS with their bland musical mechanics. It is from just such a hit-factory that Grammy Award-winning Corinne Bailey Rae must surely come. What other explanation for this parade of ‘so what’ tunes?

Oh this one’s got everything you expect from a song - a singer, some notes, some words, some beats, some instruments. And you kind of get the feeling that somewhere behind all of the marketing sheen and the production there might be something of interest in Grammy Award-winning Bailey Rae. Clearly, the good people at… uh… Grammy thought so, but blehhh can you be bothered?

Two starsReleased: February 12th
