Will.I.Am's Chinese Breakaway

Will.I.AmIn this , Will.I.Am has been very careful to explain why he will be taking his band to play in China, despite calls for a cultural boycott over human rights abuses, and the global protests in the run up to the Olympics.

You know, the ones which involve people jostling a crowd of joggers, and attempting to steal their burning stick?

Well, that may be the most interesting thing about this story to SOME people (people who, it's fair to say, are probably right), but as far as ChartBlog is concerned, it's that last paragraph which is the key one.

"The song is not officially released until next week, but has already reached the UK top 10 due to download sales of the album version, which does not include Cole's vocals."

So, if the 'Heartbreaker' goes DOWN the charts once Cheryl's version comes out, does this mean that she's spoiled it? Would that not be an amazing thing to have done? To actually make a Will.I.Am solo track LESS appealing? The same Will.I.Am - and I can't stress this enough - who released 'Got It From My Mama'?

Phew! And I think it's an achievement to walk home from work once in a while.

I tell you, if such a thing should come to pass, I'm contacting the Guinness Book of Records...
