CLOUDY AND GREY BUT THAT'S JUST THE WEATHER, EVERYTHING'S FINE IN HERE.

Chris Evans | 16:31 UK time, Monday, 21 May 2007

Must be quick today, way behind but all is good, the weekend was packed fuller than a tiny suitcase for a huge man. Say, are you going to see...

a really big act at a stadium event this year ?

If you are i may see you there as i had a telephone call out of the blue on Thursday last week, asking me to interview one of them for a television special that will air around one of these such concerts. I would tell you who it is but i.m not sure if everything's been announced yet, so I don't know if I should or not. Anyhow it means that I'm rushed off my feet and sleepless in Seattle for the next thiry six hours or so.

At home, everyhting bodes well, as I hope it does with you. Have found several holes where the rabbits are making their midnight tristes to feast from our veggie patch, well tonight they may be a little disappointed when they discover the recent industry which has put paid to these breaches in our pride and joy's defences.

Tonight we avenge the GENESIS NERDS who attacked our line of competiton questions last week and we give the new single from KAJAGOOGOO a spin ! I think the exec prod., may have been on the loopy juice last night but who am I to argue,

thunderbirds are go people,

Yep Bloggers, DD has been a struggling over the past few days as my left shoulder, which was damaged in a road accident 20+ years ago, has suddenly started acting up. I'm not sure if it's the recent wet weather, the increased exercise regime or the the fact that my car gear change is getting stiff, but I may need to have a new op to clear out my shoulder joint of debris and tighten up the joint!

    Hi Chris and all,
Long time no write as I have had nothing to say which is most unusual for me but reading your blog of today I coouldn't help but pipe up. I've only been asked to do a bloody stint at a big bloody festival this year - not on the stage but as a VIP driver!
I've never been to a festival before as I find crowds really really scary and can't do those overused temporary toilet facilities. I also like to see the whites of the eyes of my entertainers to get that up close and personal feel.
Anyway my mate Kiki works for a little outfit called Lost Vagueness who take over a field or two at Glasto every year and put on an alternative Las Vegas - casinos, chapels, dancing girls, Elvises, etc.. Well they need a driver for the VIPs who will be playing some big stages and their little stages and will need to be driven between the two. They camp in an enclosed 'staff' area and our toilets and showers are just for the staff and I don't have to be in amongst the crowds at all. In fact I'll be in a land rover driving from field to field and just looking about with an access all areas pass. I felt a bit guilty going home to my 22 year old and saying "mummy's going to Glasto" and as if by magic Kiki said she could do with my son doing his flashy cocktail stuff behind the VIP bar if he is interested.
So we're off to Glastonbury (Pilton) festival on a big bus with lots of funky groovy strangers and over the top dressing up and music and we're going to have a fab time! My first festival in my forties. I do hope there's someone older than me there!
I wish everyone a great week,

Rabbits have been long-time occupants of our garden and I take the view there's enough to go round. BUT after 25 years' living in a deer-inhabited forest, but on the edge of a village, we've managed to remain unexplored territory for these beautiful, gentle but lethal-to-garden creatures,,,, Until last week when they invaded big time and ate the buds off all our roses, left hoof-marks all across the new love-of-my-life asparagus patch, and chomped through many of the annuals that I'd grown from seed and so carefully planted out into the flower beds. Can't afford and don't want the 8-foot high fence that would be needed to keep them out! Any known solutions?

I really don't want to throw cold water on the "big outdoor gig" thing but it just does not appeal to me (remember I'm not as young as I once was!). A few years ago me and my husband went to see The Eagles in Hampden Park, Glasgow. Had to walk for miles to get to the Stadium, we were so far away from the stage we should just have stood outside, and to top it all, The Eagles were bored to tears with each other, and the show was horrifically bad! Then, we had to walk the same miles to get back into town! Not for me, sorry, but to one and all with plans for this year - have a great time!!!

Also saw Boy George in Tottenham Court Road in about 1983 - he's massive - and he was just lovin' the attention he was getting as Culture Club were on the way up at that time.

Trust me nobody cares. It's simply not interesting. But you should get counselling, talk to somebody who can help you because by the sound of it you're very lonely.

    Remember This, Too, Will Pass.

But for you to let out all that vitriol and bitterness in such a public arena it would have been emotional suicide and fuelled you further.

I see it's all 'appenin' on the blog today.

I personally don't buy the papers because there full of lies and rubbish. Anything that is remotely a true artical is always twisted and sensationalised anyway.
Half of all this trouble between the Middle East and the West is stirred up through the press.
Most ordinary citizens of any country just want to live together in peace but read the papers, you'd think if you went outta yer door a suicide bomber would be lurking or a hoodie is going to stab you. All the silly press stirring it up. That's why i'd never want to be famous myself- I mean imagine opening the paper to read rubbish about yourself, look at the recent Chris Tarrant incident- crazy or what?
This is what public people like Chris shouldn't have to put up with.
All Chris is doing is entertaining people and having a very successful career at the same time. I mean, he doesn't start illegal wars that kill people.
    Anyway could go on.

On Jonathon Ross - like Gingembre says Jono has done very well- I think he's the highest paid radio2 jock and only does one show a week yet drives a G-wiz. The dude obviously ain't got any chips on his shoulder or he'd drive a Buggatti or a 650bhp 4x4!!
I remember one of his researchers once called me when I was a teenager to ask would I go on his show. (Long story- basically I got in the Guiness Book Of Records for something too nerdy to mention.) It was that smaller programme Jono had when he first came on ter tv, before he got his show today. But look at him now- interviewing the world's top stars.
I'm just damn glad I didn't go on his smaller show- I wouldn't want to be responsible for bringing down his carer, sorry career. Believe me that could ave appened if i'd gone on his show- am tellin' yer. Plus I was too shy anyway.

Oh well i'm out of hear as usual I ain't got a clue what i'm on about- hope I haven't offende anyone.

PS Christoff, i've noticed you & Wrightie keep starting your shows by saying TARRR!!

Martin - I don't think this is the place for your gripes with CLP, honey - if you have such huge issues with him, you should contact him directly yourself. I've not been around the blog community as much as usual myself, but have been aware of how much support you've received here. Please don't drag the community down with such crypticness, we really don't want to hear about it, to be honest - sorry to sound so harsh. I'm sure there is not a person here who hasn't struggled with issues in relationships (though I can't gage whether you actually have any relationship with CLP), but this is not the venue for it. CLP has an email - why do you think he should stoop to a public 'conversation' about whatever your gripe is?!

Ach, I'm boring myself now. Martin - you know that there is help and support for you - you know this isn't the place for your gripes - you know the power to lift yourself above all of this is in your hands, so do something about it. Remember that CLP actually did comment back to you way back, something he never does - you are very fortunate that he thought so highly of your plight to actually acknowledge your comments.
