CLOUDY AND GREY BUT THAT'S JUST THE WEATHER, EVERYTHING'S FINE IN HERE.
Must be quick today, way behind but all is good, the weekend was packed fuller than a tiny suitcase for a huge man. Say, are you going to see...
a really big act at a stadium event this year ?
If you are i may see you there as i had a telephone call out of the blue on Thursday last week, asking me to interview one of them for a television special that will air around one of these such concerts. I would tell you who it is but i.m not sure if everything's been announced yet, so I don't know if I should or not. Anyhow it means that I'm rushed off my feet and sleepless in Seattle for the next thiry six hours or so.
At home, everyhting bodes well, as I hope it does with you. Have found several holes where the rabbits are making their midnight tristes to feast from our veggie patch, well tonight they may be a little disappointed when they discover the recent industry which has put paid to these breaches in our pride and joy's defences.
Tonight we avenge the GENESIS NERDS who attacked our line of competiton questions last week and we give the new single from KAJAGOOGOO a spin ! I think the exec prod., may have been on the loopy juice last night but who am I to argue,
thunderbirds are go people,

I'm off to see Genesis this July at Old Trafford....can't wait!!
First saw them as a student in 1979 at Knebworth and a few years later in the early 90's at Leeds. It'll be just wonderful to see them again!
And I did try yr phone in last Thursday and did get my name in the hat...but, hey ho and all that....just wasn't meant to be.

Hi Chris et al
Weather delicious here in Northshire. Went to see the Anthony Gormley installation at Crosby Beach at the weekend. Stunning and it's now going to stay forever. It is amazing like a load of hypnotised men standing looking out to sea.

I'm out the door, so hi and bye.
A couple of days 'on the road', back in the office on Thursday and Bob's your aunty's live in lover, it's a bank holiday weekend already.
My kind of week.
Oh, and only 3 to go before The Road Trip.
Much peace and love

PS Chasing rainbows.
Yo, Christophe!
I shall be at the last night of the Twickenham run from Genesis! Can't wait, providing I is not in hospital having an operation on my poorly shoulder.
Yep Bloggers, DD has been a struggling over the past few days as my left shoulder, which was damaged in a road accident 20+ years ago, has suddenly started acting up. I'm not sure if it's the recent wet weather, the increased exercise regime or the the fact that my car gear change is getting stiff, but I may need to have a new op to clear out my shoulder joint of debris and tighten up the joint!
Kill the wabbit, kill the wabbit, kill the wabbit kill the wab!!! From Bugs Bunny performs The Ring.

KAJAGOOGOO!!!!
My little sis used to be mad about them, but is Limahl doing his own things these days? What was the other bloke called with the frothy blond hair - Nick something I think??
Hope you're going to Latitude in July, missy needs a date!

Ah Christophe I don't envy you going into battle with the rabbits.
Our Barry's score is still a less than impressive 132-2 to the squirrels over in the rodentfest that is the aptly named Knutsford. And to be honest he only scored his 2 when one of the said little divils fell in the pond, and by refusing to accept the disqualification of the ornamental one he shot by accident.
Bless him. Elmer Fudd is alive and well and livin' in Cheshire.

I'm off to have the best weekend of my life. I'm doing something very special and strange and I will tell you all about it in great blow-by-blow detail on Monday. No stone will be unturned - no blushes will be spared. I will bare my soul for you my loyal and lovely audience.....You know how I like to keep you all guessing bloggers
AND???????????????????????
Oh dear just speed read your blog today and read holes as hotels and started picturing hotels for rabbits springing up in your vegetagle patch!! I NEED TO TAKE A BREAK!!!
YEAY, thunderbirds are go indeedy!
Glad to read the blog again after a while.

Indeed... Thurnderbirds Are go...! chris all you need for your veggie patch is... a warerabbit! (as in the movie.. Wallace and Gromit in Case of the Warerabbit.. - from Aardman animations in Bristol).. them I'm sure the rabbits in your patch will have a Close Shave! :)
Oh and how did Kajagoogoo go?
Hi

Hi Chris and all,
Long time no write as I have had nothing to say which is most unusual for me but reading your blog of today I coouldn't help but pipe up. I've only been asked to do a bloody stint at a big bloody festival this year - not on the stage but as a VIP driver!
I've never been to a festival before as I find crowds really really scary and can't do those overused temporary toilet facilities. I also like to see the whites of the eyes of my entertainers to get that up close and personal feel.
Anyway my mate Kiki works for a little outfit called Lost Vagueness who take over a field or two at Glasto every year and put on an alternative Las Vegas - casinos, chapels, dancing girls, Elvises, etc.. Well they need a driver for the VIPs who will be playing some big stages and their little stages and will need to be driven between the two. They camp in an enclosed 'staff' area and our toilets and showers are just for the staff and I don't have to be in amongst the crowds at all. In fact I'll be in a land rover driving from field to field and just looking about with an access all areas pass. I felt a bit guilty going home to my 22 year old and saying "mummy's going to Glasto" and as if by magic Kiki said she could do with my son doing his flashy cocktail stuff behind the VIP bar if he is interested.
So we're off to Glastonbury (Pilton) festival on a big bus with lots of funky groovy strangers and over the top dressing up and music and we're going to have a fab time! My first festival in my forties. I do hope there's someone older than me there!
I wish everyone a great week,
TTFN

Well the Queen finally got an award hoorah, but then why an earth did Amy Whitehouse???? Will she be around as long as Elton John? Doubtful. And why an earth does Kelly Osbourne get invited to present at these things, What is her contribution to the arts? Apart from having eaten too many pies?
Chris was looking forward to reading about your weekend. A small suitcase for a big man is all I picked up on. Was it as a previous blogger suggested a nudist weekend?

Blogged off for a few days or more, due to busy-ness and fretful-ness and now find a fellow Jill on board... Welcome to you too, everyone will now just have to guess which one of us is talking! I'll have to look back and see what other-Jill has been saying in my absence which might have been attributed to me. Naaaw - guess we must be kindred spirits.
Rabbits have been long-time occupants of our garden and I take the view there's enough to go round. BUT after 25 years' living in a deer-inhabited forest, but on the edge of a village, we've managed to remain unexplored territory for these beautiful, gentle but lethal-to-garden creatures,,,, Until last week when they invaded big time and ate the buds off all our roses, left hoof-marks all across the new love-of-my-life asparagus patch, and chomped through many of the annuals that I'd grown from seed and so carefully planted out into the flower beds. Can't afford and don't want the 8-foot high fence that would be needed to keep them out! Any known solutions?
Hugs all round
Jill xxxxx
P.S. I was once offered my moment of fame as a judge at a horse show. Had to explain that the invitation was obviously destined for another Jill who shared my surname too, since I hadn't been on horseback since I was about 12 and was unlikely to know a Percheron from a Piebald (and they seem to call the latter 'coloured' now anyway, how odd)
Sounds intriguing, Christoff!!! I, again, wait with baited breath for more details! Is it a really big gig?!
Please don't do too much, Christoff ... we really don't want you coming down with exhaustion!
Same old, same old here!
Really enjoyed Drivetime as usual! I swear Sally and Johnny enjoy themselves more on your show ... 'nuff said! The lass from the greyhound racing was a real pet! I had an ex racing greyhound too - he was such a sweetheart! I miss him every day. :(

Hi all from the USA
What is Martin no 15 on about? Please keep me informed as we don't get the UK trashy newspapers over here in Michigan.Went up to Lake St Claire on Sunday and was introduced to a new hobby;freighter spotting up the river between Michigan and Canada-don't think i will take it up though. Love rading the blog,a bit of sanity among all these spetic tanks
Ooh to be aah...what a tune. I remember seeing Kajagoogoo when I was in my teens (a long while ago!!)....I asked the hottest girl in school to go out and took her to the gig, I had a blast, she wasn't impressed and I'd blown my chances - oh well.
DD - all the best with the shoulder mate.
Em M - I believe it was Nick Beggs??? Didn't he have braids at the back? oh and sorry to be dim - what's Latitude?
CLP - just make sure you don't hurt Jessica Rabbit!
CtD - well done on your triumphant walk, you must be very proud of that achievement.....when are the pics available?
Martin - I agree with all others on here - put up or shut up buddy. You said you were gonna go, so why are you lingering around telling only half a story? Be great if you stay, you must've seen all the messages of support that people left for you recently, but come on - don't start being cryptic and nasty.
Have agrwat day peeps, the sun is giving me a cheeky wink this morning so I may have to go say hi......

Mornin all
On the Genesis count, I first saw them in 1974(?) at a Rag Ball in Preston and they were the support band for Lindisfarne - I think Chris Stewart was still the drummer for them before heading off to Spain to drive over lemons.
Martin? What is all that about? Yeah yeah if it's in the papers, it must be true!
Have a swell day all.

I feel fantastic this morning!

Christophe, I feel quite sorry for les lapins. They have discerning palettes you see. Round where I work, they are happy with the grass, because there ain't nowt else worth munching. I suppose you could take it as a compliment that they reckon your fine garden makes a better feast than Gods green stuff! Contrary to popular belief, rabbits don't eat daisies. Or perhaps they do when there isn't any grass. They do not appear to eat speedwells either.
In the meantime, the magpies have made off with the fat balls, so the poor little tits are starving.
Other news...
Debster, hiya! Rest assured, that there will DEFINITELY be someone older than you! There always is, and you wonder what they do when they aren't there! You wait and see...
CtD - Many many many congratulations to you! i was poorly sick on Saturday (have no idea why, just one of dem tings I suppose as totally fine by now) so missed everything! I hope the weather was kind to your brasserie and you got your chestnuts roasted to perfection...xx

Hi all,
Martin - hope you are ok, thinking of you.
Nice one Chris for letting that message through, freedom of speech and all that. i think you're a great guy but you can't please all of the people all of the time!
Gingembre - get with it man!! Latitude is a festival near Southwold where you can listen to music, poetry and comedy etc. You can take your kids and camp for the whole weekend, or you can go for the day. My very generous friend has given us tickets for Friday 13th July, when i believe we will see Damien Rice and The Magic Numbers - I can't wait!! Why don't you all get tickets, we could have a bloggers day out! Check out the website.

Morning schmorning!
MJ - WHAT is the problem???
I saw Limahl on the train a couple of years ago - I think he was DJ'ing in Ibiza... He was very blonde and very orange!
Em M - I think the other one was Nick Heyward, from Haircut 100? Oh, those were the days!
CtD - glad you're rested honey - you deserve to feel good about your efforts!
Me and my friend were going to take our kids to God's Kitchen this summer, but U18's aren't allowed :-( We thought it would be a great experience for them - never mind - friend and I are going :-)
Debster - nice to hear from you - sounds like a great 'gig'!
Later all,

Now am well confused? Is there another hazel love or woss goin on billee?
Am writing to MP as would appear to be some kind of stalker thing going on.
What has happened to the much maligned BP? Why are they not keeping an i out for -dent-ty theft?
Help me Aunt Sally!
It`s NOT me everyone should be telling to let it go it`s CLP!
I do have a story, and one day you may read it, no I`m not being silly or messing about. If anyone knows Jonathon Ross, ask him he knows, why do you think CLP sacked him from Virgin Radio, all those years ago? And they are great friends. If you could listen to tapes of JR talking on Virgin Radio you would have an incling of what I`m going on about.
Know doubt I`ll pay the price for saying all this, but what I know has been going on for too many years. Why do you think they never let me on ARF after getting through so many times?
I don`t dislike CLP, he`s great on tele and the radio. In fact I liked him too much if you can understand that, but, and it`s a big but!
If CLP reads this, he`ll know what I`m going on about and my message to him is, I`m sorry but please STOP!
M xx
I`m realy sorry to all the bloggers, especially those that have and still support me. Yer all champion. I don`t dislike CLP as a person, broadcaster, presenter etc, far from it, like he was infatuated with Timmy Malet all those years ago I am or was a bit with CLP. But why am I being nasty now, well I don`t know; one, I don`t know all the story only a few people do I guess. But I know I pay the price if I talk out of turn. If CLP would like to reply to this and be troughthfulll honest I would be sooo happy. But he WON`T. I know.
I`m just waiting for the repercusions, for saying this, but they will only fuel my anger.
M xx
Hi Chris (and everyone),
Chris, you are sounding great and I heard the last hour of the show last night - just wonderful. I arrived home feeling really grumpy and within five minutes of listening to you, I was happily slicing peppers for the stir fry!
I really don't want to throw cold water on the "big outdoor gig" thing but it just does not appeal to me (remember I'm not as young as I once was!). A few years ago me and my husband went to see The Eagles in Hampden Park, Glasgow. Had to walk for miles to get to the Stadium, we were so far away from the stage we should just have stood outside, and to top it all, The Eagles were bored to tears with each other, and the show was horrifically bad! Then, we had to walk the same miles to get back into town! Not for me, sorry, but to one and all with plans for this year - have a great time!!!
CtD - well done you! You must have such a sense of achievement - just fantastic. Keep your special bra: some day when you are an old goat like me, that bra will remind you of what you achieved in May 2007!!
Martin - I've been down this road with someone very close to me. Please try to take courage in both hands and get to AA. Your message is a message from someone in a very bad place.

Hi
Another freebie to a big concert? Do you need an assistant? I will volunteer to help if you do need one. Mind you I am not preety, female or anything like that so I guess my chances are remote!
Poor bunnies they have to eat too.
Genesis are a great institution and I would have thought that the true NERD fan would already have a ticket so those without are probably chancers. Then NUMPTIES are probably not the best audience to go either. That leaves you and me. Nowe I am free what about you?!
Keep smiling and making me do so
H
OK Just ask yourselves this - why did CLP sack his friend Jonathon Ross when he worked as a DJ for CLP on Virgin Radio?
If you know the answer to that you know the story.
But don`t ask me because I don`t know the story. Cryptic? Yes.
Weird, I think so.
M xx
martin, you need to sort it all out.
there are many people on here who will help you (me included if I can)
If you have an issue with Chris you need to sort it man to man and not through a public web page.
I've only been blogging on here for a month or two but have found that there is always plenty of stable and unbiased replies to questions and promises.
Be strong mate, I sincerely hope that you find a solution to what is bugging you.
KWx
Ps without knowing the full story, it would appear that Jonatan Ross has done ok for himself since leaving Virgin doesn't it?
Martin,
You are sounding a little strange today - is everything alright?
S xx.
HeeeHeeee! Really chuffed that I won blogger of the day yesterday - how cooool is that!?
The aches and pains have eased somewhat today - just a slight tinge to my right ankle, but other than that, all hunky-dorey!
Have turned my attention to planning my 40th Birthday Celebrations. OK - so it's not until August 2008 but these things take planning (and saving up for) - especially when you're a Diva Leo like myself!
Quandry: do I go with what I want to do (private flight on London Eye, Chef's Table at a Gordon Ramsey restaurant type thingy) which will admittdly challenge a lot of my friends, but be one hell of an experience for others and me. Or do I go with the 'norm' - party at local pub, plate of sausage rolls and vol au vents etc etc?
Ho hum!
The blog seems quite upbeat today. It's brought back loads of memories with mentions of Nick Beggs, Limahl, Nick Heyward etc. I once saw Nick Heyward in a club in Richmond Road (South London) when I was about 18. My best mate was a HUGE NH fan so I asked for his autograph for her. I was so nervous, I went into the ladies and threw up after I'd spoken to him. Yikes! Also saw Boy George in Tottenham Court Road in about 1983 - he's massive - and he was just lovin' the attention he was getting as Culture Club were on the way up at that time.
CLP - is your stadium interview the Rolling Stones? I wanted tickets for the Dome shows in August but they are £150 EACH - methinks they're taking the peeee ? ? Looking forward to seeing Mika at the V Festival tho .....
Right, the afternoon is a calling, will check in later to see what everyone's up to.
Tranquil thoughts to all!
CtD x x
Martin,
I don't know you or Chris Evans personally. I used to think that Chris was an arrogant so and so, but since listening to the drive time prog, I definitely feel he has changed his persona for the better. I know leopards don't change their spots, but people grow and mature.
It sounds like you need to move on, 'cos at the end of the day is it really important to your life, does it affect you on a personal level.
Take care.

Sunny day, yay! God's in his heaven and all's right with the world. Dem bunnies, you need to bury your fence a little deeper - we've bunny proofed and it's worked.....
Lurker, turned blogger - hope you don't mind. Watch every day, but don't post. Love the show and listen on my way home every day. Fun little community you got going here!
Chris, keep up the good work mate. Me and my big sister love the show!

Can't believe it's only Tuesday - week seems to be going very slowly. Still, got a day off on Friday so extra long weekend for me, woo hoo.
Roll on 5pm - loving the Nerd/Numpty competition (altho I thought the numpty question was a bit hard last night!!)

Martin please get over whatever is bothering you about CLP. It can't be that bad anyway or the rest of us would know by now. I listen to JR every Sat and have never heard him mention anything suspicious about CLP. Even so, none of us are perfect Martin. We have all done things that we wish we hadn't but we just have to move on and try to better ourselves every day. CLP shares his love of life every day with us and brings a lot of happiness to a lot of listeners. Move on honey if you can. Focus on positive things everytime negative things come into your mind no matter how small they are and soon I know you will feel a hell of a lot better than you do today.
Take care

Hi all.
Martin. didnt you say you were leaving ? may i be the first to say "good". bye.

Look. Bless you but BORING.
Let whatever it is GO otherwise it will literally eat you up inside and make you very sick.
Trust me nobody cares. It's simply not interesting. But you should get counselling, talk to somebody who can help you because by the sound of it you're very lonely.
Remember This, Too, Will Pass.

ARF.
Be thankful that you haven't been put through. Because in the fullness of time you'd have felt a right eejit.
I've slipped under the razor wire a couple of times and made a twit of myself. Which isn't important because that's what I am. A bit of a happy twit. With a very pink face as we speak.
But for you to let out all that vitriol and bitterness in such a public arena it would have been emotional suicide and fuelled you further.
So again. Let it out and let it go.

Ello Christoff & ALL Blog dudes,
Bingo Star ere.
I see it's all 'appenin' on the blog today.
I personally don't buy the papers because there full of lies and rubbish. Anything that is remotely a true artical is always twisted and sensationalised anyway.
Half of all this trouble between the Middle East and the West is stirred up through the press.
Most ordinary citizens of any country just want to live together in peace but read the papers, you'd think if you went outta yer door a suicide bomber would be lurking or a hoodie is going to stab you. All the silly press stirring it up. That's why i'd never want to be famous myself- I mean imagine opening the paper to read rubbish about yourself, look at the recent Chris Tarrant incident- crazy or what?
This is what public people like Chris shouldn't have to put up with.
All Chris is doing is entertaining people and having a very successful career at the same time. I mean, he doesn't start illegal wars that kill people.
Anyway could go on.
On Jonathon Ross - like Gingembre says Jono has done very well- I think he's the highest paid radio2 jock and only does one show a week yet drives a G-wiz. The dude obviously ain't got any chips on his shoulder or he'd drive a Buggatti or a 650bhp 4x4!!
I remember one of his researchers once called me when I was a teenager to ask would I go on his show. (Long story- basically I got in the Guiness Book Of Records for something too nerdy to mention.) It was that smaller programme Jono had when he first came on ter tv, before he got his show today. But look at him now- interviewing the world's top stars.
I'm just damn glad I didn't go on his smaller show- I wouldn't want to be responsible for bringing down his carer, sorry career. Believe me that could ave appened if i'd gone on his show- am tellin' yer. Plus I was too shy anyway.
Oh well i'm out of hear as usual I ain't got a clue what i'm on about- hope I haven't offende anyone.
PS Christoff, i've noticed you & Wrightie keep starting your shows by saying TARRR!!
So i'd like to join you both by saying TARRR too.
TRARRRR errr Kiddas!!!
Hiya everyone
Reading the blog is one of the highlights of my day but MJ what is going on with you.I hope your still off the booze because your latest blogs seem to have been written by a very paranoid person-think about this -they can't be that against you because even though you have not got on ARF your blogs have been getting through.
Bigger thought:life is just too short-you're a long time dead. Lovely weather here 70f today and 85f tomorrow. They have never heard of reusing bags at the supermarkets here. When I do they look at me in a very funny way especially when I declined to have my bottle of red wine in a small paper bag of it's own which was then put into the larger paper carrying bag!
Ooh. Getting a bit edgy round here isn't it?
Martin.
Time to sort yourself out mate. Your ramblings are those of someone in need of help.
I am proud of the fact that I have met Chris a few times and he has always been charming and has time for a chat. If you have picked up on some garbage from the tabloids do yourself a favour and line the cat's litter tray with it.
And then get your head straight and get on with living your life.
Good luck.
Anyway. The sun is shining and I'm off to play tennis (not squash, salsa or any other food-based leisure activities).
Love to all
MfR.

What a gay day for dead sheep and weird people. Whats with the Martin James milarky.
Is he for real or a wind up merchant?
I suppose he could sell his story to The News of the World!!! But doubtful.
Wot? No blog? You must be a busy bee, Christoff!
Sorry about your sheep, honey - I was so upset when our pet sheep died! She was such a bolshy character!
Same old, same old here!
Martin - I don't think this is the place for your gripes with CLP, honey - if you have such huge issues with him, you should contact him directly yourself. I've not been around the blog community as much as usual myself, but have been aware of how much support you've received here. Please don't drag the community down with such crypticness, we really don't want to hear about it, to be honest - sorry to sound so harsh. I'm sure there is not a person here who hasn't struggled with issues in relationships (though I can't gage whether you actually have any relationship with CLP), but this is not the venue for it. CLP has an email - why do you think he should stoop to a public 'conversation' about whatever your gripe is?!
Ach, I'm boring myself now. Martin - you know that there is help and support for you - you know this isn't the place for your gripes - you know the power to lift yourself above all of this is in your hands, so do something about it. Remember that CLP actually did comment back to you way back, something he never does - you are very fortunate that he thought so highly of your plight to actually acknowledge your comments.
Huggles,

Martin - go away! Chris isn't what you think he is. He's a swell kind guy. I worked on Dr Who 2 years ago with his ex-wife Billie, she told me that he's a good friend, and wonderful to be with and trust.
Don't read what you will in the papers, as most celeb stories are mostly over bloated!
So Martin, duck off!

That lighthouse looks fab doesn't it, I'm mad jealous.
Some years ago I lived in a windmill before I lost me marbles, committed business suicide and lost it; and it was just the best fun ever.
Many's the night I've had to spend downstairs on the sofa after a rowdy evening in with the girls and the Harvey Wallbangers, unable to ascend the spiral staircase beyond 3 feet before suffering the Bends.
The sails didn't work, which was a great shame party-wise, but they were handy for hangin' me smalls on.
The ducks on the canal used to wander in for a chat which was charming but a bloody nuisance since I had a duck phone so I was constantly answering the thing when it was just The Visitors downstairs.
Happy days. Ah yes. I'm in a mad jealous rage. So when I get me hands on me little chapel in Termonfeckin I'll be an ecstatically happy woman.
Meanwhile Hurrah it's the Tedfest Summer Ball in Galway in June, and Sister Assumpta beckons or I'll burn in the fires of Hell. Dress to Bless. Excellent.

Happy hump day Christophe and everybody, and what a beautiful hump day it is to be sure! The boids are singing, I can hear the distant hum of the traffic whizzing by to who knows where, the sun is up, the sky is blue, and the buns are munching on the grass just outside.
So sorry to hear about your sheep. I always think of the episode of 'All Creatures Great and Small', where Mistererriot found out that the sheep, when startled, were all keeling over through calcium deficiency...I hope the other sheep aren't missing her too much...too sad when you lose an animal, especially when you haven't had them for long...
Gingembre, thank you for that! It's just what I see...and my mum has always said that I can waffle for England. I do try...
Hi Tina!
Now Mr Walker is playing 'You'll Never Walk Alone' and I'm not feeling like crying! There have been far too many mascara blodges left on a poor lad's shoulder in the past. Mainly due to over-indulgence in pomagne...but that's not for here...
What an absolutely gorgeous day! I hope it's just as lovely where you are...
love

Wot no blog????
Crikey Christophe, I do hope this isn't the start of a slide into indifference about the blog... I do enjoy reading your musings - don't always agree with your thoughts and views, but that's what makes us individuals.
I do hope you continue - your enthusiasm for life has brightened up many a day.
Right - enough sycophantic twaddle...
Morning all you lovely Bloggers - what a beautiful day! I understand the weather is going to get better and better, until the weekend, when the temperature dips and the rain starts again - ho hum - just in time for my week off next week!
Had a great night last night - haven't stopped smiling yet - beginning to resemble the village idiot... (And that's saying something, if you knew where I lived!)
Sometimes, a slow start leads to a steady, bright burning flame, which lasts far longer than the fizz, bang of an explosion of light, that steadily, but surely dims over a very short period of time...
Happy Humpday All,
S xx.
P.S. Is it just here, or is the traffic always worse on a Wednesday?
P.P.S. I sit by the harbour...
Good morning each.
Cold and sunless in the Lothians today. Hope it gets better for the weekend - off to Loch Insh and Rothiemurchus (over that damn bridge again, through the roadworks eventually - then we're off up the road to beautiful countryside).
CtD: well done you - frame the bra
HL & Clodagh: you make my day
Martin: get over yourself. If you're as miserable as you sound, phone AA.

Hi Bloggers!
Many thanks for your blog love last week after I advised you about my request for a divorce. Tonight I am going out for the first time in ages with a group of close friends. I plan to get absolutely hammered to try and wipe out some of the pain, but I'm sure I will have a good night and a serious hangover from hell tomorrow!
thanks again peeps!
Morning all! Now I'm intrigued ...
Bingo Star - what was your 'record breaker', ah, g'wan, you really need to share!!
Sammie - what did you get up to last night then???????????

Hi everyone,
Just to say, i have got through to ARF a couple of times and never got on the show, if you think about it, they must get tons of calls and you have to stand out from the crowd to get picked to speak to the man himself. I find if I overdo the booze it makes me very paranoid, I do still enjoy the odd tipple, i just try and stop when I've had enough.
Gingembre - the Jam tribute band will be fab, can't wait to read all about it. I know Paul Weller himself has played The Waterfront a few times but I've never been lucky enough to see him live have you? That's definitely on my People to see Live before I Die list! So is George Michael but I'll be able to tick that one off soon as long as he stays out of prison!

Hi there
I've been a lurker for weeks now and am beginning to feel like I really know some of you. So I figured it was time to jump in and say hello
Clodagh - loved your story about the windmill - sounds gorgeous.
CtD - Well done with the Moonwalk. I did the Race for Life (here on Isle of Wight) for the first time at the weekend. I'm not really a charity run kind of person but I got such a lovely email this morning from a breast cancer survivor that sponsored me telling me how much it meant to her that I think I might have to do it again next year.
Bodminbabe - hi to another newbie.
Hazel love and sammie - yes, its a gorgeous day here too - please let it stay that way - I'm camping this weekend.
Greetings from the little island
Lizzylou
Hi guys,
Delighted for those of you enjoying good weather today. Unfortunately it's grey, dull, overcast and completely freezing in Glasgow! Happy for you all!
Just want to say it's great to see new people joining the blog: bodminbabe, Tina Robins and lizzy lou - welcome - you're gonna love it here! Even if it does get a little "tetchy" sometimes!

Cripes - I'm busy today. Only just had a mo to catch up with y'all!
Welcome to our newbie bloggers - you'll feel very much at home here. We're a friendly bunch (in the main) and don't bite!
Not long to go til my Cuba holiday now and I am soooooooooooo excited. I usually dread long flights (only done one long haul to Mexico) but I'm strangely looking forward to this one. The weather in Cuba looks a bit iffy at the mo so we'd best pack a deck of cards and a Take A Break puzzle book (other puzzle books are available ...). Two weeks of market research on mojitos and daquiris. Tough life - but rest assured that I will miss my blog-mates whilst away.
Hope that CLP blogs today - perhaps he was in mourning yesterday for larry the lamb? Or earthing up his spuds?
Anyone see Gordon Ramsay last night? Fancy getting beaten by Captain Slow's fish pie - Gordy must've been major gutted.
Right, gotta fly. Why do bosses always give you a months' worth of work when you're about to go on holidayi ? ? ? (it still beats the portacabin tho!)
Lots of hugs, love and positive vibes

Ooooh someones got out of bed the wrong side haven't they???
Sorry Martin, but just to echo thoughts of others on here - you made your decision to no longer blog, surely you should stick to that.
If you have an axe to grind surely you shouldn't do it on here?
More to the point - where's Chris and what happened to his blog yesterday. Just hope he's not read the above messages and got his stroppy pants on.
Was looking forward to hearing about his weekend (how sad does that make me!!!!!)
Just off to chomp on another gingernut (don't get your hopes up Chris, I mean a biccie for my morning sickness!)
Mange tout xx
Hi all bloggers and schloggers!
Not blogged for AGES but had to comment after reading all the comments about 80's bands!
I'm a real 80's girl, had posters of TFF, Haircut 100, Spandau Ballet and Kajagoogoo on my bedroom wall for years! Also really excited as I have ticktes for OMD at Colston Hall on June 13th, can't wait!
CtD, I'm 40 in November and started planning my party last year so I know exactly where you're coming from! I've gone for the pub, plate of sausage rolls option but am planning to have a special celebration with my hubby on another day. Think it may be going to see Meatloaf on 7th nov but not entirely sure yet.........
Happy hump day all, gorgeous day here in average town (Swindon), pity we have to work! Shouldn't complain though as I'm off from 4.30 this arvo until 9.30 on Tuesday! Only downside is hubby has to go away to work until Tuesday evening, soo I'll be bothering my sisters and their families for company!
TTFN all, enjoy the sunshine
Tiggy xxx (also Gill btw)
Tinsel - that's for me to know and for you to summise... ;-) It's sufficient though for me to say that the Village Idiot grin has given way to stifled giggles at times, especially when text messages arrive...
Robbo - there you go - proof, if ever it were needed that there is life after separation - promise x.
Now then - 80's bands - anyone remember a group in the early 80's called 'Holiday' or something like that? Had a flashback to their poster this morning - I think there were 10 of them in the band...
Have been shopping over lunch - the local Boots (other pharmacies are available...) has received a delivery of a certain anti ageing serum and the queue for people to get their mitts on it was MASSIVE!!! Is it me (oh shoot - TOGGdom beckons...)
Righty, will dip in later,
S xx.
Sammie
You're thinking of Roman Holiday. There were gadzillions of them and they had a hit with "Don't Try To Stop It" - I'd say '83ish?
That's my anorak moment for today!

Good humpday afternoon folks!
For those who are asking why no blog yesterday........ Mr E did say last night that he had written one; tried to "send" it and it wouldn't accept. Also that the 'puter experts/techies were working on it and deleting some "rubbish" type stuff and hopefully that would leave the blog to go back to "normal" soonest. Anyway that's what I heard him say.
It is indeed a glorious day here but sadly it appears to have set the hayfever off with a vengeance.
CtD Well done feather chested one - not Brighton or Wigan although other "one's" are available? - have a wonderful time in Cuba.
Wilsmar
CtD - thanks honey - don't know how I'd have got through the afternoon without that nugget of information! Glad the job's still making you happy :-)
S xx.
CtD - long haul flights: can be a nightmare. Last time we travelled to the USA was to Arizona - eight hours. The family in front of us on the plane consisted of mum, dad, boy, girl. Dad spent the entire flight (I am NOT exaggerating) standing at the galley drinking Johnnie Walker Red Label! I know this because I went to the galley every so often for a couple of Barcardi's & Coke - but this guy was in a league of his own - he saw off all comers!
His wife did not go looking for him, she attended to the kids and he came back down the aisle 20 mins before landing because the crew said "the bar is closed". Sober as a judge, I've never seen anything like it!
Probably the healthier option would be your Take a Break magazine!
When do you leave? I would think Cuba will be fantastic!

Why is everybody ignoring one of the best singer/songwritters this country has ever produced.
I am taking of course of Mr Nick Heyward !
If you look at his "you tube" site you will see some good new stuff and with a new album due later this year things are looking up.
Please play some of his newer stuff, maybe of the tangled album ?
Come on Chris !!!!!!!!!!!
