Yes I do, I do I tell you.

Chris Evans | 15:33 UK time, Friday, 28 August 2009

"Do what son ?" I hear you reply.

I do read all the posts - well nearly all of them.

Let me tell you, last night the girls from the show came to our neck of the woods for dinner to celebrate the end of the book. Tash came out to join, Marky Mark/Mrs. Doubtfire kept one eye on the baby monitor and it was sirloin steaks and dover sole all round.

They all stayed over, Steph, Hells Bells from Hull, South African Suzie and Scouse Sarah - so it was the full English round our kitchen table this morning with my "as much butter as you dare" scrambled eggs.

Just had first big meeting about The Abba concert two weeks on Sunday - sounds fabba. Two and a half hours of top talent belting out the Super Swedes' back catalogue plus special guests and the man himself, the ice cool Benny A. Can't wait to see The Feeling and of course The Minogue girl. Tickets are still available but I think we're up to twenty thousand already !

Now do I wear the blonde wig and false beard - I am thinking yes.

Have a dudey weekend you crazy cats - back on the blog Tuesday. X.

Noah says - "It's good to bounce."

Just had to join the blog after being a lurker for a while to say that we are going to the Abba thingy and I'm so excited.

Asked MrS a while ago to see if he was interested cos he's a big Abba fan and lo and behold he said yes - so I bought the tickets quick smartish.

Also bought tickets for Proms in the Park for the day before.

Great news about all the performers!

So 2 nights in London, 2 great 'do's' and 2 posh picnics - Happy Days!!

  • Comment number 7.

You read most of the posts Christoph, including the ramblings of the FNWC which has now extended to almost any day of the week!!!?
I would have been another S at the kitchen table with Pen !! 'cept I don't use that name!!
How cute is that pic of Noah - real munchable now isn't he.

Mrs Snuggles welcome to the madness. Sounds like a superb week-end in store for you. I wish!!

He is growing so quickly. What a little sweetheart.

  • Comment number 10.

Hi Chris, if you do the blonde wig you will have to do the white lycra flared suit! Now that, I am sure, a lot of people would pay for.

    Noah looks such a cutie.

looking forward to this weekends Beatles thing.

  • Comment number 11.

    Hi Chris,

What a fabulous photograph of Noah - he is a wee sweetheart! Have a great weekend. Sorry I will miss the show tonight (going a friend's for dinner and lots of wine!) but I know it will be fantastic.

Just want to say to MC: thanks - I am really looking forward to meeting you and all everyone else in Liverpool! Very exciting!

Hellen: regarding "I Will". I always took it to be a song about someone you can't have, who you have seen, but can't get together with for some reason. I could, of course, be completely wrong! No matter, it is a wonderful song!

As for the R2 Beatles weekend - I'll be listening to as much as possible. Johnnie Walker played "All my Lovin'" this morning and it made me think of my lovely brother who died three years ago. He and his then fiancee were in London when this record was in the charts. They found a wee shop that could record you singing, and they provided you with a 45 single! They sang this song - their singing was atrocious, but they were young, madly in love, and they giggled all the way through it. Then, in 1967 they emigrated to Canda, and my brother gave my mum the record. She would listen to it all the time, weeping her eyes out, because her son had gone away and she missed him so much!

    C xx

  • Comment number 12.

Fab photo CLP..he is such a sweetie! And the white flares and blonde wig is definately a go-er!

Right..got to get sorted to shut up shop so will be off..bestest bud round for tea, wine and a natter tonight so prob wont be back...but will look forward to the shenanigans brightening up my saturday morning!

    Cheers!

Hope all gets better with Deev as don't want her going back to the way she was feeling on Monday.

  • Comment number 15.

Yeeha, whoop whoop whoop, shrieks of glee, yelps of utter joy.

A tad excited if you couldn't tell.

I am not having a picnic on the M5 after all. In fact, sitting on my bed with lappy in front of me.

There has been an incident on the Avonmouth Bridge (unfortunate for someone so I'm sorry for them, have heard its someone wanting to leap off)

So,thanks to Sally Traffic, have turned around and come home.

Downfall is that I will have to head off out 4am on Tuesday, but what ho, I love that time of the day.

Going off to gather some more plums, got no freezer space so it will be more jamming.

    Quick blog catch up.

I love babies but I couldnt eat a whole one, lol.Mind you in Noahs case, isnt he truly scrumptious?

    MTF...calm down dear :0

Isn't it wonderful how we all interpret it differently.
I was told by someone that knew Paul that he would want it to mean whatever you wanted it to mean. But I still want to know what was in his head when he wrote it.

I am not sure it can be for Linda because of the line "and If I ever saw you, I didn't catch your name" I take that to mean he had not met her.

    Interesting though eh?

Getting in the spirit of the weekend, during my littles spell of research on the 4 from liverpool, i found this out about their first experience of drugs...
"In April 1965, Lennon and Harrison's dentist spiked their coffee with LSD while they were his guests for dinner." - How nutz is that!!
    - This was apperently their first experience with the drug,..that Dentist took abit of a risk, lol!!
-It never back fired as the two continued to take it voluntarily,...but still, lol! - thats not really what you expect from ya dentist, well it was the 60s i guess!
-were the 60s really like that? i was only around 2 yeras of 70s and dont remember alot of those.

I loved that bouncy thing when mine were tiny. You just pat them on the head gently and away they go - bouncing for ages.

Anyone think of me when they heard the traffic report at 7.50 on JW show? Yes, dear readers, I listened to it, in the bleedin' queue for that poxy bridge.

Back later after I've catched up (sorry, I've been with a 4yr old all day).

    Evening All.....

Chris...Noah is one gorgeous boy......and those door swings are fab, the boy loved his, especially when the dog sneaked past him and sent him spinning......

On my todd with the boy this weekend, so lets hope for some dry weather so I can let him run free for a bit.
But I do have to make a apple and blackberry pie tomorrow - the blackberry's on the dog walk are getting fat 'n' juicy, so much so I'm fighting with the wasps for them! (the wasps win btw)

Back with my bottle of Ale once I've had my beans on toast - CBA tonight....

A quick thought for all the Beatles fans here- seems to be most of you,
Im not sure if they have already mentioned it all over the radio, but do u know that ALL the beatles albums are being re-released REMASTERED on 09/09/09, including 2 boxsets. - if you already know this then i appologise.
It also may have something to do with the fact that i may work for one of the music retailers -dont think i can mention which one(but the one with the little dog as part of our logo)heehee. But keep your High Street store alive! you would miss your local record store if we all went.
The Quality of the recordings is suposed to be superb!

Thanks for the info gt - I didn't know. Sounds like a Christmas pressie plan for the man in the cupboard who is a huge Beatles fan.

I agree about the local record stores. My favourite is Windows in Newcastle - been there forever and you can get all sorts of obscure stuff, sold by people who know everything about music. My DVD of rare Johnny Cash footage came from there.

I started in a little Independent and they are very Cool places, to shop in and to work. You meet some very intresting people. We had Reg Presley from The Troggs (local hero where i lived)come in once to do a signing of his single. he turned up in his tight leather trousers and leather jacket, it was fairly ammusing as the mass of people he expected to turn up never really materialized and just afew sweet little old ladies turned up. He seemed an ok guy tho, alittle lost in the times tho.
Yeah the Beatles boxsets are gonna be between 179-200 pound.

Deev - I took a goat to a wedding once! TRUE.
She was called Heidi and had been a gift to the bride from the groom when they moved in together on their smallholding.

When they decided to get married my then husband and I had the task of bathing her and tieing a ribbon 'round her neck and taking her to the church.

We did so in the back of a maxi, with the seats down and she pooed every where.
