Late Night Gang Show

Chris Evans | 17:28 UK time, Thursday, 25 March 2010

The team were out and about on the town last night.

There was a show, there were a couple of glasses of fizz for the girls; and there was a midnight snack before we all turned in at the hotel with the mad lift - you have to go up to go down - and that's only when the lift feels like it! Otherwise it's the fire escape, and then Russian roulette with the alarmed doors.

Everyone was in pretty fine fettle considering.

Oh, oh - and the really big news, Foxy from Drive Time has had cub number three - hurrah for life !

Have a good day great people of the blog. There are no finer individuals on the face of the earth.

Glad you had a good time last night Chris and WELL DONE for 'allegedly' having more listeners than Terry!!!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS to Foxy on the arrival of her new baby son. I heard her chatting on Simon's show just now and she hasn't chosen a name yet and said she is going through a book of Saints' names!

  • Comment number 6.

Blimey CLP it's a late blog tonight! Glad you enjoyed your night on the town, and if certain newspaper reports are anything to go by it was thoroughly deserved! Fabulous news about Foxy too, just heard her on Simon's show.

Hope everyone has had a good day, I've had another lazy one after yesterday's dental traumas, and even fell asleep this afternoon which is soo unlike me. I'm not normally very good at sitting around being lazy. though having said that I've got a banana, honey and pecan loaf in the oven just now and have assembled fish bake for my tea!

Sounds like you had a great night Chris, and well done Foxy, hope she's well.

Lifts?? I never go in lifts - I just know I'd die if it stopped between floors - as Beez well knows.

Glad you all had a good time last night. Congratulations to Foxy and her husband on the birth of their son and congratulations to you. I guessed your ratings had gone up after your cryptic twitter message.

  • Comment number 9.

Typical Man Chris............... is it a boy or girl? what weight ? and what`s it called ?

  • Comment number 10.

Simon has just said that Foxy's new baby boy was 7 lbs 2oz and name has not been chosen yet. x

  • Comment number 11.

    Hi CLP

Glad you had a good time last night and thank you for the compliment for us bloggers - it is reciprocated of course.

    Congratulations to Foxy.

Thank you everybody for the good wishes to those of us going to Glasgow, we wish you were coming as well - a toast to absent friends is always made (several times)...

Rosie - I hope you made enough of that loaf for everybody ;-).

Really pleased for you Chris, the Breakfast show is quite fantabulous, don't always get to hear all of it....thank goodness for iplayer so that I can catch up. Also think Simon has settled in well to Drivetime, am enjoying that too!

Congratulations to Foxy and family. I know that she had a little boy yesterday and that they haven't decided on a name yet- she has a short list though. Simon spoke to her on todays show.

Looking forward to the next sporting challenge video.

Well done, Chris, though the late night clearly was a problem for like 20 minutes before you and the gang got into the groove. Congrats to Foxy and keep doing what you do best: great radio.

Apologees for absinthe, been at that work place and working hard :(

Enjoy your week in Scotland, those who haven't already set off!

MC - did you have to mention rain? I don't think we had quite as good a day as you did, cloudy and not much sun!

Goldie, glad to see you, how's your Mum doing?

Right, buzzer just gone for tea, sorry if I've missed anyone, but will be back later!

  • Comment number 15.

    Evenink all,

JG, it got propper sunny at one point and I did the unmentionable and opened a window in the office, as there was only me and one other "nesshie" in today. Tomorrow will be fresh air day all day, as I am in on my own.
    Now its raining ;-(

Rosie, that load sure does sound good, what time is it ready please ???

  • Comment number 17.

very slow blog day and early evening - probably because all the usual suspects are travelling and are offline!

Well done Chris esp as I don't hear half as much of your show as I used to in the evening but luckily other people make up for me eh?

Wonder if Beez is there yet?

  • Comment number 18.

Loaf update: it's out of the oven and cooling down, and have managed a slice (for quality control purposes of course!). Now I normally think that bananas are the devil's work but the loaf is yummy!

  • Comment number 20.

    Good evening,

First off - an apology and a belated happy birthday to Gail - soz x

Chris - I hope the reason for the late night was to celebrate an increase in listeners from when Terry left.
The show is absolutely rocking and you sound right at home.
I trust you gave that fantastic team of yours the night out that they absolutely deserve for producing the best show on the radio.
How do spell sycophant btw?........I don't care!!!

Does anyone know the figures for Terry's new show? As much as I enjoyed Michael Ball, Terry's show has kept us company on a few long journeys recently and it works really well.

If I don't get back before the weekend. Safe journeys to all going to Glasgow and I know you will have a wonderful weekend.
I've met Chrissie and Mary and can imagine they make great hosts, I'm sure Annie is up to the mark to.

    Debs - Behave!!!

Bums, Annie, I am double booked on Sunday.

It's been a right pea souper here all afternoon. Just when I thought spring had sprung

    Rx

  • Comment number 26.

I have confession to make...I've not yet listened to STW's new show, not had a chance to and don't have time to do catch up stuff!

Oh, and to continue the occasional series of random things by the side of the road, between Salford Crescent and Worsley on the East Lancs tonight, I counted 1 doll, 1 kid's box like shape insert-type toy, 2 small stuffed toys and one much larger teddy....

I was almost in tears at the thought of all those upset children! I still have my very first teddy, and he would never be chucked out of a car window!

MC, grotty here too, but it was still lightish at 7pm, so looking good for next week!

    Oh, Mastershout's on...

    Evening all!

Congrats to Foxy and the family, just got in the car tonight when she was talking to Simon and was so pleased for them

Goldie Glad to hear your Mum is doing ok. Must be a nightmare trying to get her to rest

Rosie, I have some extra brown nanas in the bowl, think I'm going to have to make nana bread tomorrow.

Boy1 made cheese scones today. Not bad but I think he needs to make them again for practice!!

Considering he's only 13, these drama GCSE's are wearing us out! Don't get me wrong, he's not doing the things but is involved in the tech side so has been putting hours of work to support those who are!

Guess who has to run the taxi service!

Hello all, I am back in West Somerset :(

I feel really bad that I couldnt stay with my lovely friend Bids.

We got to the Uni at 8 this morning and things went pear shaped from there on...

I am not going to elaborate but health issues took over.

I did pop over to see the lovely Mr Bids and drop in a few afternoon delights!!

But as I didnt get to see you Bids, I was unable to pass on all the hugs that bloggers had asked me to.

Still, looks like April 17th might be a new opportunity, next Uni interview.

So, anyone around on this day in this vicinity, please get in touch. I can think of one in particular!!

    Hello everbody peeps,

Oh dear, I don't know where to start. Fantastic news Chris - well done on the figures. I was really worried about them when all that stuff was going on when you were off a couple of weeks ago and I'm so chuffed that you proved your doubters wrong.

Congratulations to Foxy and family on their latest arrival.

Bingo - I noticed your early morning post - hope you had a grand time - will there be a second date?

Glasgow bound bloggers - hope you have a fantastic time.

CSN - still looking weird with everything crossed. Working on the premise that no news is good news.

Goldiesmum - I hope your Mum continues to improve. Sounds like she should be resting but it might be doing her good being active. I don't know I'm not a health professional but I think it's good to listen to your bod.

Happy birthday Gail, sorry I missed it - glad you had a good time.

Seza, glad boy1 is well again and baking cheese scones - mmm yum.

I've been lurking today and yesterday (can't remember if I posted anything yesterday) but I'm struggling to remember who needs get well wishes and good luck wishes so get well soon to the poorly bloggers and good luck to the job hunting bloggers.

Andy, I did see that you're wee one is on the mend again and has very kindly shared it with the rest of you. Glad she's on the mend and I hope you guys are all better soon too.

I'm presently trying to conduct a conversation on FB with my French cousin and it's not easy. His english isn't brilliant but it's loads better than my french and I feel guilty for not making more of an effort to speak in french. Tbh, ma heid is fu' o' mince tonight! :(

Billie, I saw you're open and honest post the other day but I'm so sorry I haven't had time to add my comment. Bless you, sounds like you had it tough as a child which is difficult to deal with but you are very lucky now to have such a loving family. I saw that you feel better for getting it off your chest and that's great. Just make sure you have lots of hugs with your girls and your partner.

GB, I know exactly what you mean. Could be a very CBA week

I know I said no house talk but it's really starting to get me down. We looked at another house last week then saw it had been sold this week. At this rate we'll be in tents on the green!

Bids, want to come on our days out? You sound like the best person to have with us. xx

  • Comment number 71.

Seza, I find the Feb half term is a most definite CBA week. I usually work that week and by the time I get home in the afternoon I'm too exhausted to do much so I usually suggest a film fest and we pull out the sofa bed, fetch the duvets and pillows then snuggle up in front of a feelgood film for the afternoon (I invariably fall asleep) but my youngest lad is always happy especially if there are snacks available. :)

    The plan is....

GD has paid 20 pounds, to register with the uni set up.

So.... to get her value for money, she needs to attend at least 5 unis!

Now the fact that it costs me on average about 150 pounds per uni, with petrol accomm etc..

    Is this value for money?

Keep your postcards please, I already know the answer!
