Tis to a castle we shall travel. I have visions of pointy flags and fair maidens in amongst our rock and roll and the smell of petrol and burning rubber. Cholmondley is where we're off to. The kind of castle Hollywood would die for. Designed in The Picturesque (officially a period of art and design - I had no idea !) it sits atop its own hill proud but not overbearing as some castles might be. It has a beautiful lake, the perfect road for a hill sprint and ideal landscaping to create many natural vantage points for perfect viewing of both the bands and the many cars that will be in action.
Another date for which we cannot wait. And those dates are Sat/Sun 8th and 9th September. Lovely ! Tickets go on sale this Friday from 8 a.m. via the bbc.co.uk/pudsey website. All CarFest profits go to Children In Need. Hurrah !!!

An extremely relaxed individual. He ain't never gonna suffer a heart attack that boy. I could definitely learn from him. Most of us could. In other news, London has many fine qualities but traffic flow is increasingly not one of them. Since leaving the show at 9.30, I had to travel eight miles to see a man about a dog.. We have currently been in the car for close to three hours. Tolerance and patience improving with every minute. Sometimes testing is the only training. Ohmmmmmmm.
Have a great Friday.
And a fab weekend.

...and did again today at Stoke Park Golf Club.
Straight there after the show this morning, we turned up to witness ducks, proper real ducks on the fairways in actual ponds. Hilarious.
As always, once the rain stopped we all soon blew dry. And a great day was had by all.
Ten past five now and I'm rushing home to grab a couple of hours Noah time.
Then out with Tash for a quiet but cheeky pub dinner. I'll sleep well tonight. See you on the radio in the morning good people.

Well blustery and all that, and a wee bit chillier than one would like, but we're out on the Epsom Downs and it feels good to be alive.
Vassos, his Dad, a mate of mine and me are taking part in The RAC Charity Golf Day. It's a marvellous turn out, with motor racing greats past and present. I bumped into Damon Hill in the car park - fresh from his F1 duties at the weekend.
We're at the half way hut, teas all round and off we go again.
See you on the radio. No doubt, still fresh faced and rosy cheeked. We're par as a team up to here, by the way.
Toodle pip.

Looks like CarFest North is a goer. I will have more details in the next few days. Just looked at one site, off to another option as I type. All very exciting, meeting lots of nice and enthusiastic people along the way. Very heartwarming. Wellies came in handy. Onwards my friends - always.

All over the gaff. It's the marathon this weekend and we're pretty much already there. I've never run it and I probably never will but I've been to watch it. We had a fabulous time. There is a whole subculture of spectators dashing from one location to the next to cheer on their loved ones. And it's a bit like festival camping when it comes to remembering where your tent is. It's good to take something with you so you can stick it in the air and stand out from the crowd making it easier for your runner to spot where you are.
There's always a healthy trade in inflatable sharks on The South Bank at this time of year.
Good luck everyone. I'll be thinking about you.
Steve Coogan's on the show tomorrow ! Should be fun.

... and in just over half an hour. Well that was a bloomin' blinkety lovely surprise for everyone who's worked so hard getting it together. August Bank Holiday we march ! One and all down to Hampshire. If I wasn't working all day I might even have been tempted by a celebration lunchtime shandy this afternoon. Hey ho - another tea then please.
Radio Radio again tomorrow.. 6.30 - don't be late.
