A Happy New Year

Chris Jackson | 15:26 UK time, Monday, 4 January 2010

I guess most of us are suffering from the trauma of having to go back to work after the festive break.

For me it was one of the best winter breaks in years. After the excesses of the family Christmas extravaganza it was time for me to head off to to spend the New Year with a select group of friends.

As a means of blowing away the cobwebs to clear your brain for a brand new year ahead, I can thoroughly recommend it.

The only downside is sacrificing your normal standards of fashion. Having to wrap up so well on the walks and wear a fleecy hat to cover the bald patch means it's never a good look.

However follow that with a thawing out in front of a real fire in the cosy ancient pub and all seems well with the world.

I had a scary drive home yesterday over the icy to make sure I was ready for work. I made it in one piece and I'm refreshed and raring to go.

So here's to 2010 and my very best wishes to you for the year ahead.

Our new series starts on January 11 - so I'll see you at 7.30pm on ´óÏó´«Ã½1!
