Dear Webbos,

It’s my time to write to you once again in what’s now becoming my monthlyish periodical here at Radio 1 ONLIIIIIIIIIIIIINE, so without further ado, let the blogship blast off.

Today saw me clock up ten years at international Radio 1 which is a milestone I never thought I’d achieve. In accordance with the well known cliché about having fun, the time really has flown and It seems a little weird to think that ten years have passed since I first walked through the door. Fortunately for me though, it’s still every bit the dream job a decade in, and at the risk of sounding a bit sickly, an honour and a privilege to be here.

Thanks very much to all the people who sent such lovely texts and emails this morning. It was quite emotional but very kind, so many thanks to all of you.

Tonight sees my self-awarded testimonial taking place in the local hostelry that provided the backdrop for much of our formative wilderness years of the late 90s. Not entirely sure who’s going to be about, but it’s likely that the show team will end up getting themselves absolutely emotionalised over the course of the evening, which should provide an interesting show in the tomorrow.

In other news, my bathroom floor looks nice now that’s it’s all been properly tiled, and at the time of writing there’s been no news of any further water leakage into the flat downstairs, which is good.

Talking of water, it’s about time for me to go for a bath and try and find a clean shirt to wear tonight, so I’d better sign off. If I don’t speak to you before, Have a nice Christmas and everything.
