Hi readers of the Chris Moyles Show blog, I hope you're having a good day. Firstly I must apologise for the lack of blogs from me & the rest of the team over the last few weeks. We've given ourselves a kick up the backside and will now be back on form. Promise!
So...what do I write about? My life is pretty surreal at the moment. Each day I'm either training for Kilimanjaro, planning my wedding or producing the show with the likes of Keifer Sutherland and Will Smith dropping in! I sometimes have to pinch myself to work out where I am. On Sunday, I went to a wedding fayre in Kidderminster looking at cakes and dresses with my Mum, the next day I'm training in an oxygen chamber with Chris, Ben Shepherd and Gary Barlow. As I said it really is surreal at the moment, but I love it.
It's 4 weeks until Chris and the other celeb climbers head to Kilimanjaro. Chris is going to be making calls into Radio 1 each day of the climb, so you'll be able to hear how it's all going. I'm going along to make sure everything runs smoothly. My training is going pretty well and what's even better is that I've managed to lose a bit of weight too. I think I've turned into a bit of a bore harping on to anyone who will listen about my training programme, but I am so shocked at how good walking is for you AND better still it's so easy. You don't need to get all sweaty in the gym, you just need to get your boots or trainers on and go out. Obviously you need to do a bit of a distance and maybe some hills, but it beats going to the gym.
The Kilimanjaro climb is all for , which you probably know anyway. Make sure you listen on Monday as will be on the show. That's the day when we'll launch the donation pages for the climb and we'll be starting our mision to raise as much money as possible.
Right, that's all from me, I better get on with some work!
Have a nice day now
Rachel x
Chris is going for a 5 mile walk today, he's then having some COD action on his generic video game console - he might even have time to catch up on 24 Dave is taking part in an educational monetary experiment for Radio 1's money campaign - by going out for a drink with Greg and Dom Dom see Dave Rachel is going to do a long walk or doing an exercise DVD at Dana's, she then has pilates this evening Carrie is going to prepare a talk which she'll be delivering at a school tomorrow about how to get into journalism. Aled has got record company appointments today, this evening is then "Relationship night" with the other half. Tonight's culinary theme is the letter 'B'
Good afternoon - I'm just listening to girls aloud infront of the computer feeling very pleased with myself for making a Chicken Korma...In these credit crunch times I'm trying to do more cooking and stop myself going out - and having a big moan up from the husband for spending more money..
I am properly aching all over as still feeling a bit podgy from festive period and finally have shaken off the incessant winter lurgy I went for a 4 mile run around some resevoirs in yorkshire. Very pleasant but nearly broke me!
To be honest I wasn't feeling 100 per cent as had my first Burns night on Saturday. Was so much fun the speeches and poems were a right laugh - one from a bloke having a moan up about women - then the girls get to reply...Haggis, Neaps and Tatties...really good and this milky whiskey oat drink thing..And to finish off Scottish dancing...or reeling - can't remember the ones we did - a strip the willow and a dashing sergeant??? Anyway if you need to keep fit thats a good way to go - only did about 4 dances but had a proper olympic sweat on - which is most unbecoming when trying to be a lady in a big ball dress!
Now i've made supper for the next 2 nights the plan this afternoon is now to go and have a couple of hours sleep (as only had about an hour last night) and then to a new Yoga class to stretch out all my aching muscles! Hopefully I'll still be able to walk in the morning..
Chris is going to an oxygen chamber with Rachel and other fellow climbing friends because they're getting fit for the climb - then he's going home for a curry with "our kid" - he might also change a few lightbulbs Rachel is doing the same as Chris - but not making a curry or changing lightbulbs Dave has an afternoon of Daddy-daycare as Mummy Jayne is out Dom is doing the 12:45 edition of Newsbeat, he's then taking Fin out Carrie is going to Yoga this afternoon and then she might make a curry Aled is working on a climbing trip, checking in on Greg (who's busking to raise money for our week of talking about money) going home for a sleep then watching last night's Lost!
Chris is training and maybe doing the Golden Hour early! He'll then be watching Rob DJ on tonight's Eggheads on ´óÏó´«Ã½ 2 Dave will be going home early to watch Rob DJ on tonight's Eggheads Dom is writing the oddbox today then watching Rob DJ on tonight's Eggheads Carrie is having a bit of lunch with Melissa and baby Will, buying a bit of tartan then watching Rob DJ on tonight's Eggheads Rachel is going for a two hour training walk with friend Dana and then watching Rob DJ on tonight's Eggheads Aled is attending playlist, before going on to train with the twins in the gym before arriving home in time to watch Rob DJ on tonight's Eggheads
Chris is going for a posh business lunch and then training Dave is putting a big load of washing on (it's dark colours today) Dom is having a 3 hour walk in preperation for something we might be doing soon Carrie has a load of dry cleaning to drop off then physical excersice of some sort Rachel is doing a bit of pilates and is going to try to squeeze in a bit of 24 ahead of coming in on Friday Aled is doing his first Day shift in a very long time, today we're talking Money, big long walks and appointments with record companies.
Chris is going to meet Gary Barlow and Ronan Keating and go off to an oxygen chamber together. Dave is going home to watch the Merseyside Derby (hoping that Everton will win) Dom is also going home to watch the Merseyside Derby (hoping that Liverpool will win) Carrie is cleaning her flat Rachel is going to do a LONG walk and then following a well known fitness DVD by a well known generic Big Brother presenter Aled is hoping to get a little bit of sleep following doing the Surgery last night and getting up early this morning. He's also clearing his flat out as he has some new drawers arriving this weekend!
Coming up on the rest of the week on the show... tomorrow Rob DJ's pub quiz at the NEW time of 7:45!
Ahead of his Zane dep Jimmy Carr will be in on Thursday and Keifer Sutherland's in on Friday!
Hello bloggers and blogettes. We're back for the 6th year of the Chris Moyles Show!
Sorry this is a bit late due to live lounge activites I was evicted from my computer early on this morning and then went for lunch with the girls and new baby George who has grown loads since I last saw him before Christmas!
It was a bit of a shock to the system when the alarm went off this morning. 4am and hadn't slept a wink - was really anxious like going back to School! And we had the whole new streaming the show thing, and all the new jingles and beds. Loving the new news and sport - it really is like UBER NEWS!! For the first one I had so much adrenaline I was shaking! Shame about the football result but the least said about that the better.
Chris - after the first show back Chris will be having a debrief with the team... and Cheggers - and then he's going to have his hour in the gym and try to stay away from the pub Dave will be looking forward to ahealthy 2009 and cooking some nice healthy food for his dinner...ravioli is a suggestion Dom is going food shopping this afternoon with his wife Carrie is going for a girlie lunch with her pals including Loz and her new baby George Rach is going for a 10K walk today - she might also pop into the supermarket Aled is going for a gym session with his trainer because he feels fat.
Tomorrow there may be something different to the team update blog!
Morning! 3 days to go before the Moyles team haul their bums into Radio 1 HQ at 5am moaning about how dark it is! :)
I thought I'd send one last blog before we come back with a couple of last teasers about what you can expect from the show when we return.
As Scott's been telling you we're 'resting' Car Park Catchphrase for a while this means there's a brand new game taking it's place. It's hosted by Keith Chegwin... and it's a pop quiz. Fancy a little sneak preview?
If you want to take part on Monday you have till midday (on Friday the 9th of Jan) to enter (after midday, you'll still be entering but it'll be for Tuesday's game) - just click here!
Another little secret I can reveal for you now... if you LOVE listening to The Chris Moyles Show then from Monday for 5 days you're going to love WATCHING it too!!!!
This is something we've trialled for a day a few months back - it went SO well, we're extending it to a week. There will be proper Big Brother style cameras all over the studio so that you can log on at any time during the show and feel a part of the team and see what we all do. (Watch how grumpy Dave can look in the morning, or how Carrie really does hide under the desk when doing the pub quiz, about how Chris constantly wrings his hands when he speaks or how much work Rachel does in the studio - that no-one ever talks about!)
For the geeks amongst us the cameras are only ONE part of the whole experience there's a WHOLE console of cool stuff which will be revealed across the week!
Well, that's it from me. I'm off to Wales to do Welsh TV show called Uned 5 and then back for The Surgery this Sunday that this week is all about mental health.
And then... Monday monring, 6:30am - the return of The Chris Moyles Show at breakfast for Year 6 on ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 1.
Missing us? It feels so odd to be on holiday for the 3rd week! The first time ever. I say holiday - I'm obviously referring to the show, as both Rach and I are in the office working on the show coming back next week. We're busily setting up a few Outside Broadcasts, websites, new on-air features and getting the new sound for the New Year.
If you've got a new mp3 / phone / iPod for Christmas - why don't you make our podcast your first podcast! (and welcome to the 21st Century!)
I've got a couple of further blogs coming this week with a little bit more news about next week's show, starting tomorrow with the space that Car Park Catchphrase will be leaving on the show.
