´óÏó´«Ã½ Two - The Biggest Names in British ComedyPrepare to be excited, comedy fans: there's a whole lot of new comedy coming up on ´óÏó´«Ã½ Two this autumn. You may have seen the teaser trailer on the telly - now here's a chance to see what's coming up in a bit more detail.

Rob Brydon and Steve Coogan are reunited on screen - and over dinner. Steve has been commissioned to review six restaurants in the North of England... and somehow he's been stuck with Rob for company. The show, like Curb Your Enthusiasm, is fictional, but based on their real personas.

Grandma's House

Like The Trip, Simon Amstell's sitcom-writing début is based loosely on his own life. It's been co-written with Dan Swimer, who previously worked with Simon on Buzzcocks and Popworld, so you can expect this to have plenty of, y'know, zing.

Roger and Val Have Just Got In

Alfred Molina and Dawn French star as married couple Roger and Val in a unique sitcom set during the half-hour period after they've just returned from work. From this simple set-up, Roger and Val draw you in to the idiosyncrasies of their world. And no, don't expect any robot tentacles.

Roger and Val Have Just Got In starts Friday 6th August

Readers of this blog will already know this is coming. In his very own show, Stephen will mix stand-up, sketches and special guests, introducing us to a host of hilarious characters.

But wait! There's more...

Look out for Episodes, a sitcom that follows the creators of a fictional British comedy as they move to LA in order to remake it (keep up at the back). The series features Matt LeBlanc as a larger-than-life version of himself and is written by David Crane (Friends) and Jeffrey Klarik (Mad About You).

Now, read on for comedy shows that are coming back.

    Psychoville, by all means, PSYCHOVILLE.

  • Comment number 2.

Bringing out all these big guns is a great way for the ´óÏó´«Ã½ to once again show its terrific value for money.

  • Comment number 3.

Definitely 'Psychoville' for me and 'Vexed' (which sadly for some reason isn't mentioned on this page)they are both directed by Matt Lipsey and 'Vexed' is written by Howard Overman (who wrote Misfits) which makes it rather promising.

  • Comment number 4.

There's some cool looking stuff there - now let's hope the Beeb actually promote them all heavily, which they've been a bit slack at of late....

  • Comment number 5.

Rob Brydon also has his own show coming soon. Went to one of the recordings tonight and it was absolutely brilliant.

  • Comment number 6.

´óÏó´«Ã½, thank you so much. Insanely looking forward to the new shows, been going on a bit of a roll lately with comedy. Rev, Miranda, Mongrels and now the new shows! Really looking forward to Grandma's House and Episodes the most!

  • Comment number 7.

Buzzcocks, Miranda and Shooting Stars for me please.

  • Comment number 8.

Oh dear, just watched Grandma's House. It had a complete lack of, y'know, zing.

  • Comment number 9.

Loved Grandma's House. Really refreshing, cracking script. Simon's performance was a little bit 'one-note' , perhaps because all the other performances were so caricatured, but even so it was brilliant. More please.

  • Comment number 10.

Simon should have stuck with the Buzzcocks. Both this and Roger and Val are dire, I triied hard to see he funny side but, dissappointingly, I failed.

  • Comment number 11.

I really like Grandma's House, very interesting dynamic created by putting the setting entierly amongst a multi generational family under one roof. Only been two episodes so far an I'm wondering if the characters really are fictional or based upon real people like hinted in the second episode! :p
This and Roger and Val are something new and fresh. Both comedies on subtle dialouge. Brilliant, thanks.

Which shows are you most looking forward to?

The LAST and FINAL, for all time, episode of 'Grandma's House' never to be repeated EVER.maybe at 3am..but weld the can its put in...and put away for the 3010 celebrations!

  • Comment number 13.

I hate when people criticise programmes they've never even watched, so I tuned into the second episode of Grandma's House. It was a painful as the first. Did they really just steal the premise of The Royle Family and try to present it as something fresh? Simon Amstell cannot act. He doesn't even make an attempt. Terrible programme.

  • Comment number 14.

Has no one else realised Simon Amstell's and Dan Swimer's source for Grandma's House? Simon's hesitancy about what he should do next, his suspicion of his stepfather to be - who has killed someone in his past, even the play within the play (about eggs). It all fits as the latest update of Hamlet. Will Clive's victim turn out to be Simon's father? A brilliant production.

  • Comment number 15.

I just love Grandma's House, it is so true to life and is one of the few programmes that makes me laugh out loud. Well observed details too.

  • Comment number 16.

For anyone brought up in a lower middle class Jewish family in London Grandma's House is excrutiating. I can't get enough. Make it stop!

  • Comment number 17.

Grandma's House; LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!! I'ts brilliant. Loving this and Roger and Val. Their Observation comedy at it's best, where you as a viewer find comedy within the real life situations and which isn't forced or where you feel you should laugh at the laughter track, because there isnt one.

And that's what makes both of these programmes special. For those who think otherwise, you just dont have very good taste, what can i say? :-) And i have a sneaking suspision that its a lot more closer to Simon's life than he would have us believe...

  • Comment number 18.

I'm absolutely loving Grandma's House. It's the best new comedy I've seen in years, and although I was a bit uncertain on the first episode, it's grown on me! I love it.

I haven't seen "The Trip" but the premise looks great.

  • Comment number 19.

I've just watched the final episode of Grandma's House and have to say how mauch I have enjoyed the six episodes. The writing seems to have grown funnier as the characters have grown more familiar.
I sincerely hope that there will be another series and that the writing talents of Simon Amstell and Dan Swimer will be afforded further opportunities by the ´óÏó´«Ã½.

  • Comment number 20.

Grandma's House is BRILLIANT! Please, please let's have another series. I think everyone's acting in the sitcom is excellent including Simon's (don't agree with the criticisms).

  • Comment number 21.

I really enjoyed this. Simon Amstell can't really act even though he's playing himself but the others all can (the actress who plays his mother is fantastic)so it doesn't really matter. He's got charm anyway. and the script is so funny. hope we'll have more.

  • Comment number 22.

    I agree, I loved Grandma's House! Let's have more!
