Just after 4pm Alaska time Mark crossed over into the Pacific Time Zone (where it's 5pm) and country number two, .
As Mark crossed the Canadian border for a new chapter in his 15,000 mile journey he closed the door on his time in Alaska. It had been a very eventful first few weeks for the record-breaking adventurer, he reached the summit of one of the coldest mountains on the planet, felt the earth move in an earthquake and battled with some uncompromising Alaskan weather.
Only a short period of time has passed since his climb on Denali and he will face massive exertions as he continues along the transamerican highway and the lofty terrain of .
It's expected that Mark will take around a month to complete his cycle across Canada. Camping alone he will spend the next four weeks in the wilderness and discover the nature of Canadian identity.
Finding food to ensure he maintains his daily intake of up to 6,000 calories may provide a major challenge for Mark in the remote Canadian landscape.
Mark leaves Alaska with memories of a remarkable achievement so early in his journey, but may not be sorry to leave behind the miserable weather.
