Deal or No Deal?

Davos is famous for deals being done, but there's one which may not happen. the US stock Exchange, has bid for the London Stock Exchange. Tomorrow is the final day for them to raise their offer. Their senior management are here, and at the Nasdaq reception last night there was much discussion of the prospects for the bid. No sign though of anyone from the London Stock Exchange here - they are keen to retain their independence. The offer has another two weeks to run, but without a raised bid few expect it to succeed. Our Business Editor, Robert Peston, says even if that's the case it will be the end of a chapter, not the story, as NASDAQ still have a 28.75 per cent stake in the LSE.
