Button to test brawn
will ditch engine power and rely on his own resources to get himself to the finish line for a change this summer.
The Englishman will test his mettle in the on 1 August to raise funds for the .
Button has been cycling, swimming and running in as part of his F1 fitness training for the last couple of seasons but this time the championship leader is aiming for a decent finish too.
"The race covers a 1500m swim, 40km bike ride and a 10km run," explains Button.
"It's the biggest triathlon in the world so I thought it would be a fantastic opportunity to raise money for a charity that is very close to my heart.
"I'm aiming to finish in the top 10% so no pressure!"
The triathlon may be an individual event but Button is making sure there is no "I" in team by roping in his race engineers Andrew Shovlin and Peter Bonnington too. The Mole is not sure if they'll be on hand to advise Button on his triathlon .
