andy_chris_200x200.jpgThe show is dazzling as ever but if there's one area of the show that's inspiring me to take a holiday it's the Grenada exhibit where not only do the plants have an amazing vibrancy and energy, the girls on the stand are the most welcoming of the show.

I am a regular visitor to thr flower show but my mobility has suffered as I have got older. I visited yesterday and find I had a few problems I picked up the wheel chair at the usual point and paid for disabled parking this year the small site was inundated with Sodexo staff signing in obstructing the disabled facilities, making use of the disabled toilet and seating very confusing for us this has not happened before. The office provided to sign and pay for the wheel chair had such a high step we couldn't get in it.
The facilities within the show were bad for pushing a wheel chair about the main Pavilion restricted laid pathways meaning we could not wheel the chair to enable us to see all the stands, there was a lip onto damp wet ground. The pathway in front of the gardens had a lot of gravel and again getting on and off was a problem nearly being shot out of the chair a number of times spoilt the usuall experience of the flower show. Perhaps I could be a trialler? for the facilities unless you are a regular wheel chair user you don't realise the problems

Fantastic day out to the show. Made the trip from the very tip of North Yorkshire and it was worth every minute. I've worked in Horticulture for 20 years and there is always something new to see and learn. Loved so many of the planting combinations, everything from the cool greens of the 'Cadogan Garden' to the vibrant colours within the 'Life to Life' George Harrison garden. Just wish I was at the show again today! Chris, I have been to some of your gardening lectures in the past, do you have any plans to visit the North, perhaps Harlow Carr ?
