It's very exciting because today, the first five of our show garden films will go live to air behind the red button and as such we've kicked off the ´óÏó´«Ã½ RHS Peoples' Award 2008. You can vote online at www.bbc.co.uk/chelsea from 9pm on Tuesday.
That's also when all of our films are live, it's a culmination of lots of hard work over the last six weeks and more recently an intense final push by a dedicated team of directors, editors and runners.

We want pictures of the gardens and flowers with informed off-screen comment. The gardens should be photographed as a visitor would see them, and perhaps the sort of view one might get from a bedroom window.
Why film a presenter talking to camera about a garden he [mostly hes] can see but the camera, and so we, cannot?
Why not film what the presenter is seeing with off-screen comment?
The only point of having a hand or similiar in shot is to give some idea of scale.
Please, Ms Producer, less tricky bitty camera work.
So less talking heads and more gardens and exhibits please: filmed as a person would see them.

Secondly, I'm curious to know why Alan Titchmarsh has adopted a strange set of sideburns that my wife likened to those of a third rate Elvis impersonator? On a more male orientated note ... who chose (and tied) that awful pink necktie? And, more importantly, since when was is fashionable to wear a tie that dangles (the only word that seems to suit) several inches below the level of the trouser waist band? Hideous !! More flora and fewer faces please.

The 360degree online tours of the gardens last year were brilliant as it was the only way I could get to see the whole gardens rather than just 1 photo. Why isn't this feature available this year? Please please please think of all of us gardeners living abroad.
As the Chelsea Flower Show is one of the world's premier gardening shows then why isn't the ´óÏó´«Ã½ giving more online coverage to the gardens outside of the UK? We should be proud to promote such a show, not stop people from seeing the gardens.
From a very sad brit missing the show.

The brief shots shown of any plants have been shown as arty, faded photos. Whilst this may impress a camera fanatic, it certainly does not impress the gardener/plant person.
I also agree with the comments about 'so much time being given to the presenters talking to us'.
I find it amazing that the main talking point of, what is regarded as the best flower show in the world, is AT's sideburns!! I think that says it all about the coverage we've had so far. It may be the Chelsea FLOWER Show for the visitors, but the viewers have seen many green gardens - but virtually no flowers.
