On tonight's packed show Toby will give tips on how to smarten up your gardens this weekend, and will be preparing Greenacre for winter gardening tasks ahead. One problem many of us have to deal with at this time of the year is late blight, and Toby will talk through some ways of tackling this.
I managed to bolt out of Birmingham for the shortest of short breaks, one night camping at Penpont, next to the river Usk in Wales. The weather was good, a little drizzle but good bursts of sun and the water was cold but the swimming good. The best bit though was the walled vegetable and cut flower garden on the farm where we were staying.
On tonight's show we'll be following the breathtaking transformation of the Jessamine Cottage garden, a hidden gem nestling in the heart of the Berkshire countryside. I hope it inspires you to get out in the garden this weekend, so here are some of the GW production team's top seasonal tips:

I've been planting pot grown henryi lilies in my garden, at home, to add extra height and colour amongst the dahlias and replace the gray foliage of poppies before their seed sets and falls.
