It is thanks to those who sacrificed in the past, that we are able to enjoy the freedoms we now have.
Respect.

For people like you Peter who have a more personal connection with this day it must be a very sad time, this little poem I think says it all, God bless you.
Blood Guts and Thunder
I was there, my memories I do not wish to share
I was there, but do you really care?
It broke my mothers heart
You do not know, but I do
because I was there
Brother Fred he is still there
no demob suit for him to wear
He is there, but do you really care?
It broke my mothers heart
You do not know, but I do
Because I was there.

At 12th Nov 2010, Peter Tregantle wrote:Trembath you have finally shown a little humanity, is it so much to ask for you to stop inventing enemies in your quest to taint everything Cornish with your nationalist slant?
Fact - nationalism is so small in Cornwall it is not on the political Radar, people like my Brother died defending my Country which is England. Nobody here is Anti-Cornish they are anti-bigotry, this is not the thread to explain but whilst the nationalists think it clever to say we only employee Cornish people and only house Cornish people and we object to the English, trust me I object with the same passion because of what my brother gave his life fighting for.
Stop attacking everyone you deem English, it looks foolish and offends the vast majority of people living in Cornwall, please do not respond your comments are very clumsy are lacking consideration for everyone in Cornwall, if you must sell your vision please do so without offending people like my brother.
Btw thanks everyone including Paddy, must be honest I did not stop crying after I made my comment yesterday, reading the news it is good to see those extremists who burned the poppies are going to be arrested, people need to understand soldiers have no option where they fight or with whom.

1/ The British armed forces, defend Britain, of which England is but a part. Those of my relatives, and friends who have joined the forces, all joined to protect Britain, not just one part of it, ALL of it, and they tell me that their colleagues are/were of the same opinion.
2/ I do not "attack" those I deem to be English, and if you knew as much about me as you attempt to portray, you would know that my wife is English, born in Luton, to true Cockney parents, and I have many English friends. What I "attack", is attacks on me, and deliberate untruths spread in an attempt to discredit that in which I believe. In short, if you bite me, I bite back.
3/ I do not feel that this is the correct place for these issues to have been raised, It is a thread that is here to remember those who sacrificed to defend our freedoms, all our freedoms. To defend the freedoms of all the people of Britain, and other parts of the world. It is not a thread to argue politics on.
