Cabinet creaking under the strain?

Was it really such a good idea for Cornwall Council's 10-member Cabinet, so over-worked and hard-pressed that it needs to appoint additional-payroll Cabinet Support Members, to have Not enough to talk about? On the back benches the prospect of taxpayers having to fund more interesting jobs for Conservative/Independent councillors is Incidentally, the Localism Bill, will allow local authorities to scrap Cabinets and return to the old "committee structure" of decision-making. Which would at least give Cornwall's 123 councillors something to talk about.
