Some relieved planners at County Hall. Looks like Cornwall might have dodged a bullet, at least for the time being.

The government's policy on unnecessary house building is mistaken, complete nonsense and destructive to communities and the environment in a myriad of ways.
Around 1M houses across the UK are standing empty.
In Cornwall alone around 16,000 residential houses have been hijacked and are being squatted by non-residents who don't live in them.
In addition, in Cornwall, around 5,000 houses are standing empty.
In addition, in Cornwall, a considerable number of residential houses (number not known-perhaps you'll find out) have been taken over for letting to tourists.
Surely residents' shelter NEEDS should come before optional tourist demands?
Housing and putting the shelter needs of Cornwall's full time residents first is after all, Cornwall Council's first and foremost obligation.
    Isn't it?

THERE IS NO SHORTAGE OF RESIDENTIAL HOUSING IN CORNWALL & SCILLY TO MEET THE RESIDENTIAL HOUSING NEEDS OF THE RESIDENTS OF CORNWALL & SCILLY.
