I will be honest, I was drawn here when some English born freak CW kept trying to encourage people on c24 to attack your site, I read the comment and rather liked the cut of your jib. The downside is the moderation, which sees messages removed foe no logical reason. As you can tell my location is as I say and I am not part of any racist parties as the freaks would like to tell everyone and have nothing in common with antbod, a link created by an aussie and a person with mental issues.

Correction - the last line of my comment does not suggest the Aussie does not not have any issues, he created the web site which saw the nats rounded up by the police, when he thought it clever to promote the lemon as a cornish gun runner, the truth hurts Chris.

For me very much like Gaz, I had a look from reading what was said on this other forum, I thought anything must be better than a close shop set up.

Being Cornish I like to see that the home fires are still burning, and freedom of choice is still available to all.

The biggest turn off on here Graham in my opinion is the overactive moderating.

My only complaint is that you are not posting enough. John Redwood manages at least one per day and he is probably busier than you.

You are as Cornish as the next person if you wish to be.

If I claimed to be Cornish just because I felt Cornish it would just mock those who are Cornish. In fact, I am Anglo-Irish. Living in Cornwall. I like it here and I would like those of us, Cornish or not, who live here, to have a lot more control of what happens here. But I don't want to live in a Cornish ghetto. backofanenvelope what do you define as Cornish, nobody controls where they are born. But we do have control of where we call home.

Graham, it seems quite clear from some of the comments above why some read this blog.
They are usually the ones who complain about the moderation, because they have either failed to read the house rules, or feel that they should be exempt from them.
As for me, whilst I do not always agree with your viewpoint, you do seem to try to write as balanced a piece as you can, and dig away at that which you believe to be wrong.

I am one of those guys who thinks being Cornish is culture not a blood group. As YC said people are free to be Cornish if they wish, living or being born here are just two access methods - YC currently uses remote access as I am as I working away this week

Mr Smith asked for comments on why people read his blog. Probably because they feel they are Cornish. Even if they are not.

It works both ways, not everybody embraces the fact that they are Cornish or has any Cornish contacts. The old straw in the mouth image doesn’t go down very well in the city so I have been told.

Perhaps people should read what Graham actually asked as I see no reference to the word Cornish, he asked how many are from within an English county called Cornwall.

It is not easy sometimes folks getting through the minefield of moderating but we get there, perhaps you will have a go and post something, that would be nice.

Perhaps Mr Smith could divide his readers into three groups. Cornish (have a bloodline); Non-Cornish (chose to live here and like the place and people); pseudo-Cornish (people pretending to be Cornish).

A valid observations which works both ways, most who do view the comments are doing so just to hide certain truths they find rather embarrassing, like my comment removed above pointing out the person moaning above my comments practices extreme censorship on the site he moderates. They use any game to hide the truth by claiming what people comment is private or personal when in truth it is a sanity check and exposing why we have more lurkers than people able to comment on topic. This also explains why I opt to use decoder rather them giving it to people straight.

I think backofanenvelope tried but let the cat escape with his last comment, there are no pseudo-Cornish. That is a clear invention of the paranoid nationalist unpopular front who think anyone who is against the nationalists has to be uncornish. I think some have gone a little bit further, inasmuch as they are trying to build or resurrect something from the past and make believe it is theirs for today. The so called Cornish language is a very good example, that with the sympathy card of the Cornish genocide, they have good reason so they believe, to fight the good fight.

Oh them - The citizens of an imaginary Cornish Fantasy island which seems to be a epileptic mix of Kilts\duchy\kernow. Let them invent away at the end of the day the truth will out. Best example is when they brainwash each other that Cornwall is next to England and then start shouting down people or invent a national flag which has no history prior to 1900.

Perhaps one reason people read this blog is read the misguided, nonfactual, and politically (of the gutter variety) motivated comments that some contributors feel necessary to post here. It is such a shame that those few contributors feel the need to try to make every thread about the same topic, regardless of the topic of Mr. Smiths original post.
