Your views on Question Time on Thursday 15 April 2010

16:10 UK time, Thursday, 15 April 2010

Question Time, the 大象传媒's premier political debate programme comes from London on Thursday 15 April.

The includes the Energy Secretary Ed Miliband, the shadow schools secretary Michael Gove, the Liberal Democrats' schools spokesman David Laws, UKIP's Nigel Farage, the director of the human rights organisation Liberty, Shami Chakrabarti and the broadcaster John Sergeant.

What are your thoughts about the programme and the panel? Let us know here on the Question Time debate page.

The questions:
Who won the debate tonight?
Will it affect the election result?
By inviting the public to govern are the Conservatives abdicating the important role of the government and the State in delivering the services our society needs?
Does Gordon Brown's admission that he should have controlled the banks more closely prove he's not suitable to continue to run the country's finances?
Would a hung parliament be the political equivalent of a giant cloud of volcanic ash settling over the country?

I am glad to see that Nigel Farage has been invited. The three main parties seem to have a conspiracy of silence over the "EU".

I do not support the BNP, indeed many of its supporters disgust me. However, it is a legal party and they should also be represented.

  • Comment number 2.

Every week HYS have a "Your views on Question Time" comment, why? Maybe we should have a topic on "Your views on Eastenders on blah, blah"

  • Comment number 3.

I am a 40-something NHS Worker, married to a Civil Servant with 2 Children currently in State Education, living in Scotland and not one of these three men said anything to convince me that I should vote for them - in fact do they even care about NHS Staff, Civil Servants or Scots?

  • Comment number 4.

Clearly for Brown and Cameron the key marginal battle ground is Nick Clegg... expecting to hear more 'I think Nick agrees with me...' from them both in future debates. Cameron made most obvious gaffe China bracketed with Iran as a nuclear threat?

The viewers in the other three countries of the UK will not regard the winners, as Michael Gove said,to be the viewers, these viewers from the other countries along with England make up the UK, yet every question had the same proviso, this question does not apply Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland, what was the point of this debate. The tv companies say it because it is a Prime Minesterial Debate for the UK yet all the questions were regrding English policies, to then say we will pacify the other countries will have another debate later then gives Labour Tories and Lib Dems two platforms to get their rubbish across again, shame on ITV, shame on Sky and shame on our licensed tv for all the UK, the 大象传媒.

  • Comment number 7.

Oh dear, you get the feeling John Sergeant would make a better Labour politician the the odious Ed Miliband.

Of course, Ed's not going to look anywhere near as bad Nigel Farage.

  • Comment number 8.

Me at 11.00 pm what rules did I break? No swearing but a light 'joke' about Question Time. Please re-moderate!

  • Comment number 9.

I'm appalled that on tonight's panel of 6 people there is only one woman. And much as I respect Shami Chakrabarti, it is wrong of the 大象传媒 to keep using the same women as panel members, promoting the idea that there are only a handful of women in this country whose views are informed and interesting. Was the gender composition of this panel even considered?

  • Comment number 10.

I think it was a low trick to quote his experience of the National Health Service regarding treatment and care of his son, whilst I have every sympathy with him, I did not think it appropriate to (if you like) use the memory of his son in this way. I felt it was emotional blackmail and totally unnecessary.

  • Comment number 11.

Well it may be the closest we come in the Tory loving media to a Labour paper, but the Guardian has Brown second

  • Comment number 12.

There are going to be three debates. Only two of them are able to be viewed on terrestrial television, with the third only on satellite. Is this fair to those who either can't afford, or don't want (or can't have) a satellite dish on their wall?

  • Comment number 13.

Me @5. , me @8. well? Please answer

  • Comment number 14.

Michael Gove is not as bullish as usual. He seems a little desperate.

  • Comment number 15.

I notice that on immegration Nick Clegg didn't repeat what he said the other day on his immegration policy He said that immegrants can only gain entitlement to work in Uk by getting employment in specific parts of the country and then suggested Scotland as an example.

I wonder why he didn't repeat it to a national audience was he worried about his Scottish liberals on the doorsteps having to defend his statement of, sending immegrants to Scotland, or is he just another closet little Englander.

  • Comment number 16.

I watch Question Time every week and am really shocked tonight at how unrepresentative the audience is on this particularly sensitive programme. It looks like the 大象传媒 have just gone out to the local Labour Party office and rounded up the people there to make up the audience. Thank goodness for This Week which is due to follow!!

  • Comment number 17.

Why on earth is Farage on again. He is a slighty watered down Griffin. Where are the serious parties like the Greens. We are getting celebrities and racists in far too abundant quantities

  • Comment number 18.

The debate was just too clinical and too stage managed. The lack of audience feedback (like Question Time), clapping and the ultra strict rules just made for a dull debate. I hope Sky or the 大象传媒 choose to ignore some of these rules for their debates to make them more interesting viewing. I love politics, yet I'm completely bored of the election campaign already, to the point I am even wondering whether I can be bothered to vote. Politicians need to engage with voters and the media need to get back to being proper journalists rather than just reporting the guff that party machines pump out.

  • Comment number 19.

Seems typical of the biased towards Labour 大象传媒 to have John Sergeant on the panel tonight, who is clearly showing his support for all things Labour and playing wing man to Ed Miliband

  • Comment number 20.

Six panellists, four of which are liberal/left.

An audience loaded with Labour supporters too.

Typical left wing 大象传媒 sham to try and keep their Labour masters in power.

  • Comment number 21.

Why oh why does anyone vote for UKIP, when the person most often representing them is the odious Farage who is not even willing to consider the Prime minister debate important because he was not invited. The most egocentric man to grace the QT panel. Please do not invite the 'cracked record' back for another performance, surely there must be someone else in their party.

  • Comment number 22.

The opportunity to see the leaders of these partys on screen i believe is great for the public to have the opportunity to see condenced what their policies and ideas are, after all how many real people are actually going to sit down and read the three manifestos...

my issue that I would really like to hear someone acknowledge is the issue of voting and encouring people to get of their bums and make difference, to take an interest in what is being said, to be proud of the fact that we have a democracy (even if the options are a set of lemons)

it seems that noone realises this debate is only worth it if people actually bypass apathy and vote

---- and as I've just typed this a member of the audience mentioned the exact point - pity noone else seems to care

5 lefties 1 right and 1 extreme good choice for the left bias 大象传媒 after the tonights debate.

  • Comment number 27.

Why is Shami Chakrabarti on QT as an unelected representative of nobody?

  • Comment number 28.

    Me @ 24: What rules?

  • Comment number 29.

So all say Mr Clegg won. Name another member of his shadow cabinet apart from Mr Cable. No....... neither can I. We are voting for a Government here not 1 or 2 MP's.

Labour are reverting to being nasty people just negatively commenting... Mandelson, Campbell, the Milliband brothers, Balls, Burnham - utterly untrustworthy

  • Comment number 30.

Is thia a lABOUR party conference?

  • Comment number 31.

On the 'Who Won?' question, Nick Clegg and the Lib Dems are showing a real offer of change and real reforms with ways of paying for them, that the public want, if people take them seriously a difference can be made.
But tonight Gordon showed that his policices have substance and detail, and he came across as a sensible and safe leader.
I am hoping for a Labour-Lib Dem coalition after the Hung Parliament.

  • Comment number 32.

It has been a very interesting evening but having considered the debates on ITV and the 大象传媒 I feel the live debate to have been very useful in determining how I will vote at the coming election.....

    Vote John Sergeant!

Moderators= Please read this post as it is inteded to be read.

A quarter of a century ago, when I was about 18, I lived with my Mum, Dad, Brother & Sister. My Dad had two passions; Liverpool FC & a fanatical hatred of Margaret Thatcher.

He couldn鈥檛 stand being in the same room (not that she ever visited) with whom he referred to as 鈥楾hat Thatch鈥 so he refused to watch 鈥楾hat Thatch鈥 on television, would turn off the radio if 鈥楾hat Thatch鈥 were interviewed. If 鈥楾hat Thatch鈥檚 picture was on the front on a newspaper he鈥檇 have to fold it so as not to see 鈥楾hat Thatch鈥檚 face. His hatred peaked every Thursday evening with 大象传媒鈥檚 Question Time when Conservative Ministers (Dad referred to them all by the collective 鈥楾he Voice of That Thatch鈥) did debating battle with the Opposition.
The living room was commandeered through the force of his language. Mum would beg him not to watch because his inevitable anger gave him high blood pressure. The rest of the family would shiver in the other room. So as not to disturb us, Dad would turn down the volume on the TV very low and as it was barely audible, he鈥檇 kneel down six inches in front of it. We鈥檇 hear the debate through the walls; or rather we鈥檇 only hear my Dad鈥 contribution to it:

鈥淢umble Mumble Mumble 鈥 鈥 Yes, That鈥檚 Right, 3 Million on the Dole.
    罢丑补迟肠丑鈥
(obviously this in response to the Liberal panellist)

鈥淢umble Mumble Mumble 鈥 鈥 Yes, Yes. That showed them. Next Election!
    罢丑补迟肠丑鈥
(obviously this in response to the Labour panellist)

鈥淢umble Mumble Mumble 鈥 鈥 True- but if you hadn鈥檛 split from Labour We鈥檇 have a majority. 罢丑补迟肠丑鈥
(obviously this in response to the Social Democrat panellist)

鈥淢umble Mumble Mumble 鈥 鈥 LIAR. 罢丑补迟肠丑鈥
(obviously in response to鈥., well you get my drift)

And the next morning he鈥檇 come down to breakfast, bright red with the vein on the right hand side of his head throbbing angrily from fretful nocturnal insomnia. Had the Conservative panellist on Question Time not 鈥榖een showed鈥 his temper could last, well days. Even up until the following Thursday on one occasion.
My memory of all of this was one of great amusement - until I realised I was doing the same. I don鈥檛 mean getting angry with the memory of Margaret Thatcher but with our own Prime Minister, Gordon Brown. Unlike my Dad鈥檚 relatively polite Thatch, I don鈥檛 refer to him as merely as that Brown. I refer to him as That Brown.
But unlike my father, I鈥檓 not just shouting at an almost mute television. I鈥檝e taken to something seemingly even more impotent, putting the world to rights by posting on the internet. We in our generation are lucky, we now have an (almost) free, (so far) uncensored internet. An opportunity to vent our spleens without disturbing our families. A freedom that will probably be undermined in the next few years unless, we stand up for the right of freedom of speech for this new medium.
    Use it while you can.

Mr Gove says that the businesses think that the NI increase will destroy the recovery. Aren't these the same business people who said that the minimum wage would destroy the business sector....?

  • Comment number 37.

The question about the Conservative manifesto is outrageous! Questions should be related to all parties, and not to openly bias against the Conservatives manifesto. Otherwise the question that should have followed was about Labour's image of utopia (that doesn't exist) on their manifesto. This is another example of the 大象传媒 bias towards Labour. Starting to get the feeling even the audience in Question Time is not balanced.

  • Comment number 38.

Gordon Brown admits he got it wrong with the Banks - mm.

This is something many have known since HE setup the FSA and removing the Financial Monitoring from the Bank of England.

The only choices were - either the FSA were totally incompetent or they did what they were told by Brown, to turn a blind eye to the risks the Banks were taking. why? Because during that time the Treasury were getting Billions from the Banks activities.

As for the Private debt lower the interest rate to ludicrous levels and you create massive debt.
Uni Graduates also upto their necks in debt.
The Name for Labour should be Labour = Debt.
Of course we could do as the Government have do - print some cash, just as Russia used to do, run out - print somemore, easy.

As for John Sargent - why does he not know what he is talking about - his presence on the platform match's his dancing ability.

PS. What is the point of having Chakrabati on the programme - who is she, what is she?

  • Comment number 39.

Re:education- Grammar schools did give some social mobility.. how many PM's or front benchers are from comprehensives, to my knowledge- 0. The only ones from less well off backgrounds went to grammar schools. The Tory policy is ridiculous if you leave it to parents to organise the equivalent to business plans for schools, the only ones capable will be in richer area, and an increase for capital spend and maintenance costs for new buildings means less money for teachers, teaching assistants, books, new equipment, etc.

  • Comment number 40.

well, we all know that Tony Blair has cause a major disaster but for now that has all gone and it is causing us problems. So what we all need to do and focuse onto is to support ourselves and continue helping our country instead of damaging our selves more. LABOUR is appropriate for majority for all within this country, instead of the other partys that is 100% current. I think we should Give Gordon Brown a chance to correct his mistake and this time am 100% confident he would make sure that he does everything right.

So who is the leftie out of Nigel Farage and Michael Gove?

  • Comment number 42.

I strongly object to Shamri Chakrabhati's comment that we all went into debt. I can assure her that our family didnt. Not at all. We have been careful with our money and also bought only a house we could afford. Unfortunately it wasnt very large as a lot of other people had taken out larger mortgages than they could really afford and certainly they could only afford them at low interest rates.

SO PLEASE dont repeat that we all got into debt. No there should have been controls to stop the irresponsible spending by people and government. And there should have been controls on the banks to stop them lending to vulnerable people who couldnt afford it !
And this all happened when Labour were in control and now the Conservatives are having to take the flack !

  • Comment number 43.

It is a disgrace that the Chairman should describe John Sergeant as an "INDEPENDANT". Goodness everyone knows that he is a dyed in the wool Labour activist - waiting for his peerage from Gordon Brown.

  • Comment number 44.

Moderators @33. Thankyou. Eventually. Although your censorship shows a limited sense of humour!

  • Comment number 45.

The audience seems to be more impressive and interesting than the panel this evening. i used to love QT, but the politicians on the panel have become too boringly predictable.

  • Comment number 46.

John Sergeant has been dreadful with his sycophantic Labour support. He's more deluded than Ed Milliband.

  • Comment number 47.

Very refreshing to hear from Nigel Farage - he speaks as does Mr & Mrs Joe Public.

UKIP covers more bases than the Tri-Party grouping.

  • Comment number 48.

At the end of the day it makes NO significant difference. Each Party fails to serve the country.

Its nothing more than Hobson's choice.

And a hung parlimenmt would be a disaster leading to a new election within 14 months in all probability

  • Comment number 49.

Would the British public accept a hung parliament if the balance was held by minority parties such as SNP or Plaid, I think not, so why on earth would should they accept a hung parlament with another minority party the Lib Dems wielding power way ubove their minority status.

  • Comment number 50.

There is more than one cloud over us right now.
The darkest one is the cumulus of mp's running scared in case they are out of a job in a few weeks.
It makes me sick to see them almost cosying up to each other in their collective fear.

  • Comment number 51.

on the subject of more autonomy for local communities - as a school governor I am one of over 300,000 governors across the UK that work realy hard to support schools in their communities - I am disturbed and offended by John Seargent's comments. At the moment we carry all the accountability along with the Head Teacher but have to suffer all the bureacracy that is heaped on the Head Teacher and us every year by central government - the latest being the dictat that primary schools must allow children to start in the Sept term despite their birth month removing any leadership and judgement by the Head Teacher. Central Gov't currently dictates but takes no really accountbility for the impact. Even our local authority backs away from any real challenge. The large funding injections have been heaped on failing schools - those performing and delivering get next to no help or support. At least with the Conservative poilicies local accountability will be balanced with local control - we may just be able to breathe.

  • Comment number 52.

This is the first time I have been on this site but I am driven to comment tonight after the most biased Question Time I have ever seen. totally loaded towards Labour, no Tory supporters in the audience and as for John Sergeant! Whatever happened to political correspondents being anti partisan, at least on the surface? Utterly disgusted 大象传媒.

  • Comment number 53.

Strange how after 13 years in power, now that they are faced with losing the election Labour only now want to change the voting system! They've already changed the boundaries to help them, now even a 10% advantage under the system isn't enough to return them to power (the measure of the Tory lead which is still not enough to win the election) so now Labour want to change the voting system again to try to hang on to power. Talk about cynical abuse - how can you trust people like that? Shows the integrity of politicians!

  • Comment number 54.

Why did David Dimbleby constantly interrupt the panel, Ed Milliband mostly, the others less so, but still enough to disrupt the flow of the responses overall. It seems he now believes the programme to be a vehicle for his own agenda / comments.

  • Comment number 55.

SHAME ON YOU 大象传媒! I have never seen such a biased program against the Conservatives.

The panel was not balanced, the questions were biased against the conservatives, and I am beginning to think there is a subversive plot in programs relating to the election, to give a negative view of Conservative policy and manifesto.

I am very disappointed as this is not democratic. I hope this situation will improve as Labour have been in government since 1997, and they should be brought to account.

  • Comment number 65.

    Good Evening

I must register my objection to the apparent partisan Labour audience tonight, I have watched Question Time for several years and have never seen/heard such a partisan audience for Labour. Almost every single point scoring issue for Labour was loudly appluaded and almost all coments for most other Parties especially the Conservative Party was almost absolute silence! Was this a contingencey plan for Gordon Brown not doing well in the Leaders Debate?

Your credability as an independant forum has certainly taken a knock tonight!!

    Regards

    John K Dobson

  • Comment number 66.

Frankly I thought that 'episode' of QT was the most biased I've ever seen after the 'BNP' whoops, debacle! Did they pull in an entire Labour party club?
Absolute rubbish! There is a reason I call it shout at the telly!

  • Comment number 67.

On the ITV debate the worst performer was Alistair ( I forget his name)
Who isn't a patch on David Dimbleby. Most unproffessional.

  • Comment number 68.

I wish people would shut up about 大象传媒 bias! The reason the audience was Labour-heavy is because they were in a Labour safe seat. That's the whole point of of taking Question Time to different areas so local political feelings can be aired. Many times Question Time has been to a Conservative seat and the audience have been "biased".

  • Comment number 69.

As a lifelong Labour voter, i have to admit that it will be hard to put my x in the box this time, but what is the alternative?
Cameron, who only wants to make the rich richer, or Nick Clegg, while well meaning and talking a lot of sense, will not get the support to form a government.

  • Comment number 70.

Ed Milliband gave out the usual line about how many schools, hospitals etc had been built under Labour. This is a favourite line with government spokesmen, but what they forget to tell us is that most of these are built under PFI schemes. This is a scam to keep the figures off the balance sheet, and to make it look as if things are better than they really are. Some of the schools which have been built will still be being paid for by the grandchildren of the pupils who are attending them at the moment. It is a very expensive way of doing things, much more so than straight borrowing, and I am surprised that they are are not challenged more on the costs. Oh - I forgot, the Tories are also in favour of this method. Check it out, we are being ripped off big time.

  • Comment number 71.

Since when is 'the economy' a synonym for 'government spending'. Am I the only person to spot this 'elephant in the room'? It is 13 years of this sort of economic naivete that's got us in this mess.

  • Comment number 72.

My comment 23 has been sent to moderators, if someone whose opinion I have always valued as being non biased suddenly comes out and supports every single audience question with an obvious bias towards a particular political party, which also can be seen by many of the contriutors to this debate, you then have to wonder if you have been subtibly influenced by them in the past.

  • Comment number 73.

    # 68 There is a true bias - and if you're not following the News, other television events, you would not understand - and no, I won't 'shut up' I am as entitled to my opinion as you seem to think you are. Generally even in safe seats there are detractors, not one single detractor, even Jo Brand, oh sorry, that was the bloke, was joining in. Sad!

  • Comment number 74.

@Derick .62 - Gordon is that you? if you look into it, Gordon Brown took control from the Bank of England and gave it to that quango the FSA, who didn't regulate anything! but only worked with their cronies.....the bankers.

The Labour government inherited a very buoyant economy and look at where we are now! personal debt was allowed to escalate and people given money who would never be able to pay it back. Just to blame it on Thatcher/Reagan era shows how delusional you are....sorry mate.

  • Comment number 75.

thomas thompson @70 makes a good point, but i have been working on a new 拢400 million hospital for the last 18 months, employing 1500 men.
This project would never have happened without pfi.

  • Comment number 76.

The debates have convinced me of one thing only, tactical voting to rid your constituency of the party currently occupying the seat is the best way forward. That is the only way real change will be brought about. Look at who finished second last time and vote for them. Let's shake up the country completely !

  • Comment number 77.

My Vote seems to have many confusing meanings - I am voting for tax cuts and at the same time more spending on NHS, Defence, Education and the environment. I am voting for a Leader and a representative to speak my opinions where they can be debated as good or bad. I am voting for policies that will manage the country鈥檚 resources and improve social and economic conditions. Logic tells me this is contradictory. Logic tells me that my vote has its own credit crunch. Logic tells me that people don't change. Logic tells me that a person who can speak for things or people who can not speak for themselves, a Tomorrows Man(TM), are very rare indeed.

  • Comment number 78.

With reference to Mr Clegg winning the debate, well, let's see the Lib-Dems do something with this. Let us see the Lib-Dems go for the Labour throat and rip it out.!! Let us not see the Lib-Dems cosy up to Labour and give us another 5 years of the worst government since King John!
Go on Lib-Dems....you CAN do it..just ignore the Tory definite-win seats and go for all the Labour seats and concentrate on them...it's what Labour deserves after all....50 years in the political wilderness as 3rd party..!!!

May I now comment on the QT Program itself...WHAT a Load of bias against the Conservatives...SHAME on you 大象传媒...!! John Sargent has destroyed 大象传媒 Journalist parity once and for all. Also the audience came out of Labour central casting department, even if it is in a Labour constituency there should still be audience members from easily a 30 mile radius to balance out.

Lastly, the so-called "Banking Crisis" was originally caused by President Clinton forcing American Banks and Mortgage companies to supply mortgages to the supposed underclass of the USA who were being discriminated against because they could not afford a mortgage. This worked for several years while US house prices rose and "asset value" rose too, then people started taking cash out of the asset and getting a bigger mortgage and when house prices fell the huge mistake was there for all to see. The mortgage could not be sustained, sadly banks all over had bought all these toxic mortgages and the rest is history. Get the facts right, it was not caused by Thatcher and Regan, nor was it helped much by Gordon Brown with his light touch and the FSA.

  • Comment number 79.

I would like to see the Political Parties have a really BIG overall vision of the future, like making the UK the research capital of the world for example. I get the impression that the only vision they have is to try and keep the UK economically prosperous which is a direction with no goal or background purpose. Are we peacemakers, social engineers, inventors and teachers aimed at making living together easier by intelligent reasoning or do we keep asking "why doesn't somebody do something about this?".

  • Comment number 80.

@73: Note - I wasn't specifically telling anyone to shut up.

I think it's a refreshing change to have a bit of Labour/Liberal bias on Question Time after the Tory-heavy antics of David Starky, Carol Vorderman, Calvin McKenzie, and Richard Littlejohn over the last few weeks.

  • Comment number 81.

I also wondered why Nick Farage was on so much, but what really surprised me was that only one other person noted how disappointing it will be next week that we can only see that debate at the time it is taking place, that is, before Question Time, if we subscribe to Sky! I am shocked.

  • Comment number 82.

It makes me laugh, the integrity of Question Time has been brought into question on the following grounds:

The audience where all Labour party members
The panel where all AGAINST the Conservative Party
The independant people said things that did not support the Tory view.

I watched the program start to end and it appears to me that as with the week before at the start the audience favoured no particular party but that by the end the undecideds had sided very clearly with the views of the Labour party. That is because as with the week before the Tory spokeperson could not articulate clearly a policy on pretty much anything and when faced with facts and substance against dreams and hopes people will side with fact and substance every single time.

I was surprised at John Sergent in that he actually has an opinion and it makes sense. After years of seeing him report the news you forget that these people have a view point. The fact that the Tory sponsored contributors to this debate dont like this well respected commentator made points against the Tory point of view says more for the lack of substance of the Tory party and not John Sergent.

Ref: 293 -ONE HAPPY PUPPY wrote --'should have Nuked the uncivilized----keep your oil fields, opium, gold mines--Christrianity, Capitalism, Consumerism and what not...' With all respects it reminds me of a tale, an old Chinese man walking slowly in front of Changez Khan and his army. The Khan sent his aide to bring the old man to remind him who I am. The old man said to Changez "I know you visit every year, loot our crops and wipe out thousands of Chinese." Changez used his wisdom and asked him what he meant? The old man said, "keep on killing, a day will come there will be no farmers and hence no crops and you all will starve to death." Let the so called civilized Nuke the uncivilized, no cheap labour, no fattening profits....."--Christianity, started from the Middle East, Christianity is NOT the sole domain of the Whites. In Africa there is a famous saying, the 'missionaries' came with a Bible in one hand and a gun in the other, they gave us the Bible and took our land. Capitalism, was preached by European economists, the mad rush to attainiing wealth showed us the Ponzi schemes destroying the poor and the innocent regardless of their race, religion and nationality. Consumerism goes in concert with Capitalism, one can see how this paradigm shift in living style is destroying mankind globally. OPIUM was introduced by the British which was produced under the direction of British East India Company and then exported to China, the Chinese were addicted and Indian Agri-economy was destroyed. It was the cause of the Sino-British Wars, also known as the Box Wars. OIL FIELDS in the M.E. were owned by the British, US, Dutch, because they needed it for they had the industries for using the crude for chemicals and pharmas, the residual known as petrol was used for automobiles and diesel driven engines, the poor 'uncivilized' never had these luxuries, its only in the last three decades vehicles and commuting is available on cars and diesel engines. GOLD & DIAMOND mines all over the world are owned by Europeans and Americans, the uncivilized do not have enough to eat let alone owning diamonds and GOLD. It would save a lot of heartache if the uncivilized are NUKED out of existance and if you have a few moments to glance on history, listen Buffy St. Marie, Ph.D.in her song 'When the Buffalo is gone.' read the treatment to the First Nations both in North and South America, see the movie "Heavens Gate." Then the terrorists were the Europeans, Slaves with the darker skin, Confederates versus the Unionists, Poliks, Greasy Greaks, The Irish, The Soviets, The Cubans, now the Muslims. Planting cancerous seeds in the midst of nations will spread cancer! The world is beautiful and can be made far more beatiful if we all make a concerted effort without attaching any strings.

Another audience filled with Labour stooges! John Sargeant! How biased is he? How anyone could be contemplating anymore of Brown's dumbing down and bankrupting this country defeats me.

    Dull again!

And has anyone else noticed the audiences are looking more and more like a bunch of actors every week?

I am sure one of the 'questioners' was interviewed on Channel 4 the other night as an 'undecided' voter! I keep seeing the same audience faces on different political programs! How do you manage that David? Is Max Clifford an agent for all these people? I am beginning to come to the conclusion that the media are attempting to 'fix' public perceptions! Are they all engaged in creating a 'comfortable' illusion of 'political engagement'! When in reality the public have ALL become so disillusioned by the Political Cliques that we have ALL stopped listening to the mystic babble?

Surely, people like Shami Chakrabarti should be a little more 'angry' about all that anti-humanity legislation and the audience a little more animated! At one point I was convinced they were all made of wood! And David Laws the ex banker had me laughing with his 'critique' of bankers! Ho Ho

Ed Miliband and Michael Gove are both dealing in illusion and make believe, while Farage is just hilarious in his observations of truth! He makes the truth unpalatable for the electorate! Wonder who pays his bills!

    As for Sergeant - Why?

More and more, in every way - I am arriving at the uncomfortable conclusion I live in the Soviet Union, with a one party state masquerading as a democracy!

What do you 'think' comrade volunteer!

A writer of rational volition - I applaud your words!

And so we are able to glimpse reality IF we seek truth in our understanding of the world around us.

Only with full knowledge of the Truth of Reality can we ensure the same things do not keep repeating!

We are humanity and we are all free rational humanity!

Michael Gove reveals the truth behind the Conservative policy of Big Society when he says that power should be devolved 'down' to the people - a scene reminiscent of Orwell's Animal Farm. Elected leaders are servants of the people not their masters. It is this same gross pride that fuelled the expenses scandal.
