Trauma

If you're involved in a serious road accident and the paramedics can't move you, an NHS doctor wouldn't automatically attend the scene. If you live anywhere in the UK outside London, the chances are the doctor will be a volunteer, who will get to you only if he or she isn't already busy with their day job. We spoke to listener , a volunteering doctor who originally emailed us with his concerns. GP told us about the training of volunteers and we took the issue to , the NHS's National Director for Emergency Access.
