It was a good Glastonbury

It was a good Glastonbury this year. On the Friday at around 3 o'clock I had my doubts as the sky was dark grey and the rain just looked set to stay for the duration. Went to see as many bands as possible but the mud made it SOOoo difficult to get around.

We had the Hoosiers on my show and I trucked along to see their set on the Other stage - it obviously meant the world to them to be playing Glasto and they went down well - lifting the crowds spirits with their cheery songs and all singing/all dancing cheerleaders - certainly put a smile on the faces of the boys in the crowd.

Vampire Weekend were a little reticent on the show having been made to carry their own equipment all the way over to the park area - in the mud - in their very favourite trainers with bin liners over the top. But - they were excellent on the Other stage - drew the biggest crowd I've seen there and got everyone shimmying in the mud.

Saturday and Sunday and the mood of everyone just got better and better. Bumped into Yannis from Foals who was incredibly nervous before they played - the reason being that it was such a big deal to be on-stage at Glastonbury and in his own words - he wanted Foals to play like Heroes. And they did.

This year I got to see so much more of the Festival than ever before - I did all the outer reaches... the Circus fields where you could make a clay model of yourself and place it in their mini Glasto field...the Healing Fields where you can send a postcard from Glasto to a friend and place a wish on the Wishing Tree - this was my favourite thing.

People had placed their secret wishes on bits of gold card and strung them up to make the tree. The wishes ranged from heartfelt wishes for happiness, for recovery from illness to love... boyfriends... babies... to things like 'I wish my brother would stop weeing on me'... 'I wish I hadn't burnt my back'... 'A huge knob please'... and so on. Very funny and sweet and poignant all rolled into one.

On the show on Monday we asked for your photos from the festival - here they are!
