Gutted to lose fantastic derby

After all the hype in the week leading up to it was time to lace up our boots, get out there and sample the atmosphere.

We started our day by at about 4.30pm for the pre-match meal and you could sense the tension in everybody; not only the Sheffield Wednesday players but staff as well. We just couldn't wait for the game.

It turned out to be a really long day for me. As soon as I woke up in the morning all I could do was think about the game. I kept checking my watch to see if it was time for me to leave to go to the ground. Every five minutes it was being advertised on TV so I ended up sticking my tracksuit on and leaving early.

Hello, I'm . This season I have been given the difficult task of stepping into Gavin Strachan's shoes to write the ´óÏó´«Ã½'s Football League player blog. He is now playing for in the and everybody wishes him well.

I am completely new to all of this so please bear with me while I get settled into the swing of writing the blog.

What perfect timing to get started as the first derby of the season is upon us when we play at on Friday. We seem to have been talking about it since the fixtures came out so it will be nice just to get out there and sample the atmosphere of a big derby once again.

This is a game where form goes out of the window and passion and bragging rights take over.
