I have to disagree with you in that the race came alive, there was no overtaking at all and the small interesting bits were not to do with on track racing but pitstops.

Slow corners and flat as a pancake. 5 more years of this race is not a good advert for F1 IMHO.

I recall that last year's race was like watching concrete degrade, so this year's was a deinite imnprovement, but it doesn't have to be exciting to be interesting and fascinating for me - full marks to Rubens, Jock and Ross, they got the strategy just right.

why is it that in the opening laps at valecia jenson button was asked to surrender a place for cutting the corner when alonso wasn't, despite the fact that it looked he was forced off by by webber anyway, maybe i'm just being picky, as i'm a big brawn fan,

Welcome back to formula one, its great to see you again pitty your not commontating alongside martin.
I think that the race in valecia was won and lost on pit strategy, however the brawn of barrichello was blisteringly quick.

Always great to hear from you Murray, and I DO agree with you that the race came alive this year. I was constantly kept alert by Rubens Barrichello's relentless chase, and eventual usurping of the lead.

I've said this before, but so many F1 fans are very pessimistic about so many things, as demonstrated by rhombushead above. I was pleased by the race here this year; pleased for the venue that it had a race much better than last year's trudge (and this year's Monaco trudge), and pleased by the fact it will be with us for at least five more years. Good times indeed :)

Have to ask why is it that the ´óÏó´«Ã½ team, who ordinarily to a great job, have made a monumental error in there opinion of this race, and i regret to say that includes you too Murray.
The Valencia Grand Prix was dull and dreary, it didn't at any point come alive. All credit to Rubens he did a great job pressuring Hamilton, but he didn't actually have to overtake him on the track, the place was won in the pits. Ths does not mae for exciting racing; whether or not there was more on track action and we didn't get to see it I do not know, but what I saw was tiresome and boring.

Before the race, the teams had what was it, a four week break from racing? Well with them coming back to Valencia, it meant that the fans had a five week break!

Murray all of us will pay you a kings ransom to come back come on man you are wasted doing this little sum of things after the race please get back in that commbox it will be juts like old times, you screaming the audience screaming maybe even hamilton can win the championship if you come back there must be a little part of you that wants to pic up the mic again and slap brundle in the stomach like you used to!!!!!

I watched the race on Sunday as usual but I don't get any feeling of satisfaction from the Valencia circuit and it was the same last year. Listening to the drivers pre-race it seems like they feel the same way, Jenson quoted corner 17 as the only good place to overtake and in the race the only action was at the first corner and in the pits, which happens at every GP. Why do we have such a boring track on the calender when much better circuits have been cut - such as Montreal, Silverstone or even Hockenheim?

I feel Bernie keeps making F1 worse, and I really dislike his rule changes for next season, especially when it comes to fuel and the pitstops. I know cost-saving has to be introduced but the pitstops and the stop strategies are part of what makes F1 so exciting. I really hope the teams (combined) manage to get control of the running of F1 so they can make the decisions the fans want to see.

Also, I know you are a lover of Silverstone and now that it has been agreed it can bring in outside investment, what do you think are the prospects of having two GP's in England? (since the aim of the outside investment is to get back into the F1 calender and Donnington have a reported 17 year contract).

Finally, who's your pick for Drivers Champion this year - Jenson, Rubens or Mark Webber? I feel Vettel is out of it, especially given he only has two engines left.
