I agree that this race is going to be up for anyone to grab, for the 1st time I am frustrated I won't be able to see the practice sessions live, PLEASE PLEASE can they be put on iplayer?

Putting last year's scandal aside, which has probably actually generated more interest in this weekend's race; I am thoroughly looking forward to the event. If Barrichello keeps the hammer down, things are going to get interesting. Button needs to watch the walls...could we see a cautious drive ..?

Hi Murray, I presume from what Brundel just said about Farrari being behind in developement and thats why they are so poor at the moment that Button only won the first 6 races because Brawn were up to speed with developement but as all the others apart from Farrari have now caught up Button is back to being a duff driver ?

The commentator said 'marshals earn their money' at f1 races...... what money???? Please make sure it known that Marshals are volunteers who give up their time to train and Marshal events. The is no payment. In most cases it cost us money to do these events.
A little bit of appreciation for the job we do would go a long way.
Without Marshals, there would be no racing.

With Rosberg being penalised for cutting the white line while exiting the pitlane, does the rule apply if a driver on the track cuts the white line while racing?

I seem to remember Massa overtaking Webber at Japan in '08 where he used the pitlane exit to make the move.

I am suprised that there has been little mention of the rule change for next year, supposed to be this year, with reference to most Grand Prix wins rather than points winning the title. If Lewis wins this race, and not Sebastian (or Rubens) then would it not have been the case that the championship would be over today?

What's the black disk that Lewis Hamilton placed on the scuttle of his car with his steering wheel as he got out and then chucked back into the cockpit?

At the end of the race back in Parc Ferme, the TV pics showed Lewis put his steering wheel on the scuttle in front of him while he climbed out, together with another circular object (black, plastic looking, 2-3" wide and less than 1" deep).

Obviously he refitted the wheel before walking away, but just threw the cap-like object back into the cockpit?

The only thing I can think of is that it's a part of a new style quick release for his race harness, as the buckle normally stays fixed to one of the lap straps.

Seen it on the Mclaren a few times this season, but no other car.
Can anyone confirm harness or otherwise solve this please?

With 14 potential teams on the grid next year, how will this effect the qualifying and points system?

Surely the idea of 28 drivers going for the 'Gold' in the silly medel system would be all wrong...

It follows last seasons constuctors championship, the team that finishes first has their pit box at the start of the pit lane, any new teams would have theirs at the end. I am not sure how they are going to structure it with three new teams next year, presumably in alphabetical order.

Why is it that the fuel hoses have gotten stuck at the Singapore GP in particular? It happened twice last year, and then it happened to Jaime Alguersuari today.

I have been a few times since and drove a Formula First single seater car around there in the 1990's. I wish I could meet you and have a long chat.

I've been a massive critic of Toyota during their time in F1.
FINALLY - It was a breath of fresh air to see Timo Glock have a masterful race in Singapore.
(I still have the hat that I was adding a dash of salt to during the race in case of Hamilton cocking up!!)
Even though I've said they won't win a race this season, the performance in Singapore must give Toyota confidence in continuing in F1.
However, I still think they need a driver shake-up/management restructure to take the team forward.

1. In the interest of safety, was the rule to ban refuelling for next season brought in as a result of so many new teams joining and - can the pit lanes in ALL the races accommodate the new teams?

2.Why has it taken so long for teams to confirm their driver line up?
(By the Italian GP we traditionally knew who was driving for who...)

3.Maybe the Queen isn't partial to Formula 1, but why haven't you been called up on the Queen's Honours List? - you certainly deserve it!

That was certainly an interesting race with plenty of interesting incidents and the scenery in the ariel shots was fantastic. One of the intersting incidents was that on the first lap between Mark Webber and Fernando Alonso, after which Weber was forced to let Alonso, and Timo Glock past, after gaining an advantage by driving around the outside of the circuit border. My first question to you therefore, is this; do you feel it was unjust for Webber to have to lose those places when Kimi Raikkonen, at the La Source hairpin in Spa, clearly did the same thing and gained a fairly substantial advantage with no penalty? My second question is do you think Adrian Sutil deserves a chance at Mclaren next year given a couple of solid performances lately, up until today's incident? Surely having been Hmilton's team mate previously and them being good friends it would be a good move.

What is the point in the FIA year on year bringing in all sorts of regulations to allow more overtaking in races when Bernie Ecclestone keeps choosing circuits that have less and less (ie zero!) opportunities for overtaking? Singapore, although quite an impressive circuit, gave no opportunities to pass in anger, and even caused a crash as someone tried (Sutil trying to pass Alguersuari). Why aren't these none passing circuits removed from the calendar and tracks that allow overtaking be chosen instead? I would even suggest dumping some of the circuits that are brand new to the calendar because of this; let's face it - it doesn't do the racing or the spectators any favours!

With Fisichella's comments about the difficulty of fitting into a new team without testing. Do you think F1 would be stronger if they allowed a small amount of testing each year? And do you think that this years testing ban has damaged the sport in the long term? (by giving talented new drivers like Alguersuari, Grosjean etc. a poisoned chalice) and making their first few race debuts a glorified practice session.

With the variation in current technology between each car being so vast this season, it makes it evener harder to tell which drivers have really shone and pushed their cars as far as the performance will allow. Based solely on the evidence of this season, which 3 drivers do you think have shown themselves to be the most naturally gifted.

This might be a biased point of view as I am a huge Mark Webber fan but I was very disappointed in his penalty last night which ruined his chance of a strong race. His overtaking manoeuvre on Alonso was as I see it was a racing incident. Do the race officials expect Webber to slow down, allow Alonso to keep his position (this is Formula 1 for crying out loud), or worse Webber could have cause an accident by not avoiding contact with Alonso. Do you Murray, feel his punishment was adequate given he also had to allow Glock past, who then went on to finish in second place?

Now I understand that Webber went outside the 鈥渞ace track鈥� (even though it鈥檚 a street circuit) and that was what he was penalised for but my questions is Murray why was Raikkonen not then penalised for his 鈥渙ff track鈥� adventure at the start of the Spa GP this year? He clearly gained an advantage from his alternative route and was able to move into third place, latter going on to win.

It frustrated me last night when some good tight racing occurred and both drivers and cars were still intact, that the race official had to become involved and dictate the terms. Who knows if Webber would have finished the race, maybe some clean air would have helped his brake situation but now the championship is ever so more Buttons and the last three races a technicality. The championship could have come down to the wire, being as every bit as spectacular as the end to 2008.

This I suppose is more of a general question. But do you think that, before the 2010 season, the aero regulations need to be modified again in light of an atrocious race with little overtaking. Yes there was incident, but there was no actual proper racing, even Kimi couldn't overtake Nakajima with his KERS. The situation we've got into with processional races is quite frankly ridiculous as the new regs were supposed to improve things. Instead we've gone backwards, particularly with the development of the double diffuser.

As a result, i'd like to welcome your opinion on whether they should be changed or kept the same.

I'm not the biggest fan of F1 these days but, as a boy my friends and I never missed it. In the most part because of Murray, your wonderful commentary. You are sorely missed, one of the greatest across any sport.
Would you ever consider doing maybe just one or two a year? Thanks for the memories.

If you make a mistake in the race and have to take a stop and go or a drive threw your race is about over - you would lose about 17-28 seconds and thats is to much for any car to make up
cant they thinking of anything else than to ruin the race. yes the drivers if they do something wrong will have to be punished but the humble fans want overtaking and wheel to wheel action so theres my next question why dont we have much over taking anymore yes i watched the last race and it was great high speeds very very close to the walls etc but hardly any over taking - anyway thats my moan for the week

Do you think street circuits should have a limited amount of kerbs and chicanes and allow more of the barriers to act as part of the circuit?

I ask this only because drivers will find the true racing line no matter how wide the corner is...

Why did only Webber get a penalty at Singapore? Both he and Alonso went completely off the track and webber overtook when they were recovering to the circuit. Webber was alonside before the turn as well and Alonso forced him off the track. Why was only Webber penalised? If you cant overtake when you are off the track how come Raikonen did it and got away with it on the first lap of Spa at La Source with no penalty? We need a common approach.
Do you think a rule that states if any part of a competitors car overlaps yours (using on board sensors) you cannot turn in on him and must not force him off the circuit would encourage overtaking?

almost right, the Constructors champions have first choice of where their garrage is located and so on in order, the new teams will i assume be gieven whats left.

quality idea, the french Gp could have a berry(sp?) Britain could have a bowler hat......sorry run out of ideas now, like the idea though, although if there is every a London GP they could all wear the bearskins the palace guards wear, Kimi in one of those would be worth the entrance fee
