Your questions answered - Brazilian Grand Prix

Post categories: ,Ìý

Murray Walker | 10:45 UK time, Thursday, 11 November 2010

Do I think Red Bull should have allowed Mark Webber to win in Brazil instead of Sebastian Vettel? Do I think Mercedes and Renault will benefit from such a tight battle this season? Do I agree with Bernie Ecclestone's comment that Lotus are the only new team to have contributed this season? Do I think heads should roll at McLaren? Who do I think has been the best driver in the bottom five teams? And the big question - who is going to win the title?

You're a genius regardless of Sundays result Murray!

"Do I think heads should role at McLaren?"

Someone at the ´óÏó´«Ã½ needs to check their English. It should be 'roll' and not 'role'.

    I second that Nickynak!

Do i think Alonso should be made to race the Sunbeam behind me on Sunday??

"Do I think heads should role at McLaren?"

I think you mean "roll" ;)

    MURRAY ROOLZ!!

    (I think I mean rules)

Thanks for answering my question Murray :)

Insightful as always. I thoroughly agree that Kobayashi has been the best driver outwith the top 5 teams. He's quick like Sato was, but he isn't involved in continual accidents (Canada was the only incident where it was his fault). His drives at Silverstone and at home in Suzuka were phenomenal, and I believe he is a true future champion.

Thanks for answering my question Murray. Glad to hear you do not agree with Bernies comments. Probably just another political manouvre from the head of the sport. How can anyone expect 3 new teams to come in and be up too pace within a season? I do hope they start to catch the rest of the grid next year though. Would make Q1 more interesting.

Murray - can one mix the words superlative and legend together? Because if anyone can, Murray can.

Always a privilege to see hear your views. Who will win it all is anyone's guess, and I can't help thinking Hamilton will be kingmaker to any of the 3 above him....

  • Comment number 11.

As many others have said; it's a pivilege to hear you Murray. your predictions about Alonso earlier in the year, suddenly look very clever too.

  • Comment number 12.

    Thanks Murray,

As a big Hamilton Fan I was pleased to hear you plump for Alonso - I'm really hoping now that the old 'murray curse' is still in play!!

Seriously though - we all still love you!

Do I think Red Bull should have allowed Mark Webber to win in Brazil instead of Sebastian Vettel?

That would be like asking Senna, Schuey or Button to move over....Vettel was in with a chance, too close to the top, he wasnt going to give his position away....if he hadnt a cat in hells chance, then I think he would have... final years position on the list I would imagine is just as important to Vettel now..

    Hi all,

I am the editor of the F1 blogs, as some of you may know.

We are filming Murray Walker's final video blog of 2010 on Monday 22 November. Please post any questions you may have for him about the season as a response below. We will pick the best for Murray to answer.

    Thanks

    Hi Murray,

Do you think Ferrari would favour Massa over Alonso in 2011 in the same way as they favoured Alonso season if their points situation is reversed?

It's unlikely that situation would happen, but it's certainly very possible.

Secondly, do you think Massa can challenge again like he did in 2008?

  • Comment number 16.

Do you think 2010 was the best of all time?

  • Comment number 17.

    Hi Murray

Do you believe we will see the real Michael Schumacher back next year?

He seemed to be getting more confidence in the car in the last few races and was regularly beating Rosberg, and with a car designed to his driving style and new tyres next year, will we see the return of the great mans formidable skill behind the wheel.

    Hi Murray!

Do you think HRT will be part of the 2011 now their partnership with Toyota has fallen through?

    Thanks, Taran.

  • Comment number 19.

do you think mark webber will ever win the championship?

  • Comment number 20.

    Hi Murray!

is there a possibility that you may return to the commentary box for one last grand prix. Maybe the british gp next year?

  • Comment number 21.

    Hi Murray,

Echoing WokingWhitbys comments would you be able to commentate on one more race next season?

Even if you commentated the first lap it would be something so popular amongst F1 fans.

  • Comment number 22.

    Murray,

Do you feel that Sebastian Vettel deserved to win the Drivers world Championship?

  • Comment number 23.

    Hi Murray,

Do you feel that Lewis Hamilton has outperformed his Mclaren this season?

  • Comment number 24.

    Hi Murray,

Do you believe Sebastian was a deserved world champion? Didn't he make far too many mistakes?

  • Comment number 25.

I've read everywhere that Vettel deserved to be champion. But he was in the fastest car by a country mile and only won by 4 points from Alonso in a much slower car. Doesn't that make Vettel an undeserving champion?

  • Comment number 26.

    Hey Murray

    1. Who do you think will win next year?

    2. Given the current crop of drivers, how many WDC do you think each could have by the end of their careers?

  • Comment number 27.

Why can't Fernando Alonso handle a competitive teammate and seems to have to have control over the team, even his teammate?

  • Comment number 28.

    Hi Murray,
Why did Ferrari bring Alonso in for a stop so early in Abu Dhabi because he didn't cover Vettel or Hamilton? Are the Ferrari strategists responsible for losing him a possible World title?

  • Comment number 29.

Is there an argument to be made that this years' championship, although competitive, was actually one of the worst due to the amount of mistakes the top drivers made?

  • Comment number 30.

I would like to echo the other comments on here asking for you to commentate on one more race, please?

On to my question, which of this years rookies do you think has the biggest potential for the future?

  • Comment number 31.

    Hi Murray

Do you think that 2010 was the best Formula1 season ever? If not which season was the best from your point of view and why? And a second question : Who do you think is the best driver of all times?

    Thank you very much
    Takis

  • Comment number 32.

Do you think Kubica or Rosberg could perform in Red Bull's even better than Vettel and Webber and clinched the title much sooner?
How do you assess their (Kubica/Rosberg)season?
Who impressed you more? Why they are not in top cars already? I do not think they are less talented than Vettel (and definately Massa,Webber).

  • Comment number 33.

wouldn't it be nice of walker to explain to us what he means by "the most complete driver" i have never heard of any driver being described in terms of completeness except alonso. is it because he was beaten by a rookie that he became "the most complete"?

  • Comment number 34.

    Hi Murray,

What do you think of next years new rules regarding artificial overtaking aids, will it be genuine racing?

  • Comment number 35.

    Hi Murray,

Do you think that Rosberg and Kubica will be amongst the title fight next season?
Will this year's new teams be able to get into Q2 next year?
Will the regulation changes for next year improve racing?
Is Nico Hulkenberg unlucky to lose his drive at Williams? Particularly after his stunning pole in Brazil.

  • Comment number 36.

  • Comment number 37.

Don't you think the idea of "Lotus Racing" running in black and gold livery next season a bit silly? If the official "Lotus cars" factory are starting a team for the first time since 1994, in association with Renault, surely they can be considered the only true team Lotus?

  • Comment number 38.

    Hi Murray,

What do you think the FIA can do to improve overtaking again? A return to steel brakes to increase braking distances, large cross-ply tyres to get the cars sliding again, bring back ground effects, a 50% reduction in the height of the rear wing - or should the FIA impose, not just one but, all of these changes??!!

  • Comment number 39.

Hi Murray, If you have seen the new Senna documentary can you please tell us what you thought of it.

    cheers :D

  • Comment number 40.

    Murray,

What changes would you like to see in F1 ti improve the wheel to wheel racing?
