I must take issue with `newsnight and it's total lack of coverage to the Conservatives best results in local elections since 1992, and Labours worst election results EVER.

Newsnight has turned into the late version of the Today programme, it seems to be staffed by left-wing journalists who cannot stomach the fact that Labour are on their way out.

I fail to understand why I should pay a licence fee for a broadcaster which is so clearly biased in favour of left-wing causes, the clear lack of impartiality of 大象传媒 reporters triggered me into checking the internet for examples of 大象传媒 bias, I found 2 million plus examples of 大象传媒 bias, and from the random selection of sites I visited EVERY single one was complaining abou the left wing bias of the 大象传媒.

If people compare the reporting of Tony Blair's election victory in 1997 and the Conservative debacle in the 1995 local elections by the 大象传媒 and how it has presented the huge victory for the Conservatives in both the local and London elections this time around, it is clear that the 大象传媒 has serious problems in highlighting any Conservative achievements, I am not even a Conservative supporter, however, unlike the 大象传媒 I give credit where it is due, I can only suggest that the 大象传媒 has passed it's sell-by date and needs to be replaced by a broadcaster that reports the news factually rather than pandering to it's political bedfellows.

So French energy company EDF is trying to put in a bid to takeover British Energy after
Gordon Brown has given the nod to nuclear power in England (though not of course in Scotland where the SNP Government and
indeed the previous Labour/Liberal Dem
coalition have taken a stance against any
further nuclear power stations in Scotland).

The pro-nuclear lobby is of course very close to Gordon Brown - his brother Andrew works as a lobbyist for EDF and Yvette Cooper's father is a supporter of nuclear power according to 'nuclear spin' ..........

I don't understand what you mean by this - you must have missed the programmes we did on election night and the following night which dealt extensively with the Conservative victory, and this week's reporting of the Tories' historically high poll rating, and Jeremy's interview with Hazel Blears.

I would like to protest about the guy saying Newsnight was biased towards Labour on election night. The 大象传媒 is totally impartial over electoral coverage and with it's charter at risk would they dare be anything else. I, occasionally throw things at the screen at what could be construed as pro-conservative views but that is the hallmark of a free and independent news corporation. The complainer should try living in a Fox channel environment where Thatcherite views are considered left-wing but maybe he would be content with that atmosphere.

I would in turn like to respond to post 4, Newsnight are biased towards the Labour party, check out how many members of Labour and the 大象传媒 have worked previously for the other company.

If that does not raise even the suggestion of credibilty issues when it comes to the 大象传媒 political reporting then I don't know what would convince you.

Funny that you mention that the complainer should try living in a Fox channel enviroment this shows clearly your own left wing bias, also and more importantly you have omited to mention that viewers do not have to pay for FOX, unlike the 大象传媒.

And if as you say the 大象传媒 is not biased why are so many sites devoted to showing how incorrect your view is?.

Was interested to read comment about bias towards Labour on the 大象传媒 as I just remonstrated with the Today prog. about their
tendency to constantly knock the government however hard they try!
This is a blog, in my opinion, and not and advert.,
and at least, mostly, the spelling is of a high quality!

Re: the Myanmar Cyclone.
The Government of the Union of Myanmar has it's own agenda. It didn't ask for any help - it was forced on them by do-goody nations who can't keep their noses out of other countries business.
I didn't see the UN asking to send aid when Katrina struck New Orleans. The Americans would have been offended - I can't remember seeing Britain's administration insisting on America opening up. Katrina devastated new orleans to such an extent that it took 2 years to stabilise.
Britain, the USA, Australia and national media outlets from those countries seem to run the line that what they declare is the right way. Wrong.
Countries can fend for themselves - if they ask for help fine - but if not, butt out. It doesn't need debate from Paxman and cronies to discuss the 'ins and outs' of an issue.
Also, why should Myanmar let any aid in from Britain - of which the 大象传媒 as the media representative of the UK, continues to ignore the correct designation of the Union of Myanmar and instead continues to call it Burma - the British colonial name. Burma belonged to Britain - Myanmar belongs to the union of 137 ethnic peoples.
If you wish to comment on a country you know nothing about - then it merely shows ignorance. Again tonight if Newsnight mentions 'Burma' - I shall throw excrement at the TV screen all over Paxman and co's face.
