You may say I'm a dreamer: In Liverpool with the Lib Dems
I've been with in Liverpool this afternoon with the Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg, who visted a new community centre in Penny Lane, of Beatles fame.
And whilst I'd managed to watch Mr Clegg in the Commons at Prime Minister's Questions, and still got to Euston in time for the 1.07pm train, he insisted on flying up here by private plane.
The slogan at the local John Lennon Airport is "Above Us Only Skies", from Lennon's famous song Imagine.
But I'm told the baggage-handlers at the airport prefer a different line from the song: "Imagine No Possessions".

Westminster is not configured to yield GOOD anything. It is about winning power, wielding power and retaining power; status, legacy, wealth and 'honours'.
When did you last hear any political mention of achieving contentment, for the greatest number, in this country? Maggie at least thought money (especially unearned) made people happy. That has all been left behind. We are all Mammon's battery hens, with the difference that WE don't get our necks wrung when it gets unbearable - we get bunged in the crap shed and 'stored to death'. NO SANE FARMER WOULD DO THAT.

NORTHERN IRELAND POLITICS SCANDAL-FREE
I trust that Newsnight will devote some time to cover election issues in Northern Ireland.
We are luckier than the rest of the UK in having politicians who have not been involved in the scandals that have embroiled their Westminster brethren. In my view, Newsnight has a responsibility to showcase our politicians as exemplars of probity.
To that end I鈥檓 giving you a couple of little nuggets. Where better to start than with the leaders of the DUP/Sinn F茅in Fascist Coalition which runs the show at Stormont. Go no further than the 大象传媒鈥檚 website to AND
How lucky we in Ulster are to have politicians of their stature.

to be fair you shopuld probably specify what type of plane. Are we talking Leer jet here or a chartered single engine Cesna flown by his mate?
Political commentators cant be too careful y'know... if it is the latter it was probably cheaper than a first class anytime rail return anyway based on my recent experiences buying train tickets... and a lot more fun!
