Yelland: Communications mix-up

Michael Crick | 17:26 UK time, Wednesday, 2 February 2011

So David Cameron has found a successor to Andy Coulson as his director of communications. He is the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Director of Global News Craig Oliver, who also worked for ITN in the not too distant past.

I understand that whilst Downing Street was considering the various options they considered at one point David Yelland, the former editor of The Sun newspaper.

Er, that was until somebody pointed out a slight problem with his candidature. Mr Yelland is a member of the Labour Party.

Not a lot you can say about Oliver, so nice try regarding Yelland which isn't true!

´óÏó´«Ã½ man goes to the Tories.

Hasn't anyone told them that the ´óÏó´«Ã½ are a complete band of raging lefties? Just check out all the blogs - its on every single one of them.

Gee, never had Cameron down as someone who would make such a schoolboy error. Oh yeh, Coulson, scrub that last sentence.

Please, please, please let all those mad people out there stop talking rubbish about ´óÏó´«Ã½ bias now, please.

Unless of course Oliver was the last Right man standing......

how seamless that director of global news becomes the chief government propagandist? was it a 'natural' progression?

"Er, that was until somebody pointed out a slight problem with his candidature. Mr Yelland is a member of the Labour Party."

Er, the coalition cabinet has labour MPs in it!

As an anti-Unite(job-destroying vandals) Union sceptic I would be more interested to hear if Yelland, because he worked for ´óÏó´«Ã½ News, was a paid up member. Unite, the union who's industrial actions against BA (stage-managed tantrums to justify the union dues payed by their members in BA)forced BA into a merger with Iberia Airlines that cost BA employees 1400 jobs!

Er, Michael, did you ever hear the one about keeping your friends close but your enemies closer?

Not sure david Cameron had this in mind for his big society
Christmas Carol's is the way one Conservative Councillor who sits on Redditch Borough Council thinks is the way forward.
Councillor Julliet Brunner feels Redditch is part of the big society as they sang christhas carols.
she claims thousands of residents took to Redditch streets in the bitter cold to take part im not sure her numbers add up.
As nobody seems to know anything about vast numbers of people singing on the streets of Redditch in all areas of the Town.
julliet plans to ask this question at the full Council meeting on 7th Febuary.
IHave included the link at the top of the page for everybodys amusement.

(have to cut & paste what is currently on screen thanks to the new retroactive stealth editing practices)

A certain irony, post e-mail rant by Mr. Paxman, that the subsequent... 'clarification'... cannot be opened due to a 404 error currently.

But one does have the opportunity to ponder the extent of mutual exclusivity between Labour Party membership and ´óÏó´«Ã½ employment.

    Er TMR @ 4

Exactly which Labour MPs are in the cabinet? Now that really would be news. Are you maybe getting mixed up between the cabinet and simply providing advice to the govt on certain matters? (Frank Field springs to mind)

    No4 TMR,
    Not another Tory political thicko?

    No9TheGinger,
Do you think those Labour MPs in the 'coalition cabinet' will be receiving or being 'payed' by those nasty union men from Unite?
'Cam the Sham' must be delighted with the political nous of his supporters.

Maybe they've sneaked in Darling to be a proper chancellor but they're waiting to surprise us all at the budget.

Or maybe the Big Society has taken off in Westminster and Labour have decided to muck in and help out.

    These blogs are great.

Who ever gets the post needs to consider the way the public see MP's today.

What with the expencies problem and not being able to identify one single person in the banking would who did any thing wrong. Coupled with a rise in petrol prices and a reduction in public services I would put money on problems this September!

An introduction training course for MP's to ensure that they know which way is up might give them a better chance of hanging on to an ever decreasing number of seats.

I should point out that as 80% of there work has now been outsoursed to europe most other companys would have reduced their numbers years ago!!!!

How many seats are there in the hous 425/ seems like a good starting point to me!!

Frank Field was reported to in attendance at coalition cabinet meetings. How pedantic do you want to be?

Yes I am thank goodness. The more intelligent you feel the more ignorant you think I am and vice versa. When you open your curtains and see morning has broken I see night. When you think electrons have a negative charge I conceptually allow them to have a positive charge and make the protons negative instead. Why? Because everything you believe in is the total and eternally irreconcilable opposite of what I have learned is true. If I even, for a moment, allowed myself to believe I was in any way approaching concordance with your beliefs I would be seeking a NMR scan of my brain and heading off towards Switzerland! Hope you're having a nice week-end.

In other words if you are made of matter, then I must aspire to be made of anti-matter. Out of courtesy, if you prefer to be the one made of anti-matter then so be it, I'll gladly be made of matter. We are perfect opposites and yet here we are in our millions x6, soon to be x8 in our overpopulated former country. Oh how happy we all shall be 'going forward'.
