First Tory fox shot...

Although the 2% cut in Corporation Tax is 1% less than the Tory promise this week neither plan involves an overall cut in business taxation. They involve restructuring the tax by cutting tax reliefs - the Tories all if them, Brown fewer of them.

Please make the point on the DP or elsewhere that we will all be paying increases on fuel, VED, smokes & alcohol long before the 2p off income tax kicks in...13-14 months for most of these...

The most importnat message is that people should drink less and smoke less, of course. I agree. Also, think, if you stop wasting money then you would be more generous towards yourself and your family than any G. Brown or T.Blair and perhaps you would even be able to afford to pay all those taxes!
