Reid for Brown?

Post categories:

John Reid has just delivered a paean of praise for Gordon Brown. So I asked him to declare his support for him as prime minister and agree that he wouldn't run against him. I even offered to eat my hat on air if next week he announced his candidacy. Oddly, he didn't take up my challenge.

they've all been following the 'whip for months, "declare interest in deputy job, don't oppose brown" I wouldn't trust what any of them say until after Blair leaves' and a leadership contest is started. They'll all come out of the woodwork then....

As an aside note, I missed the start of the coverage (walking back from pub, as the name suggests), Who is sat between Nick and Dimbo?

Yep - you need your hat intact!

A note on the council results - it seems like it is just small fidgets between the parties - nothing startling for any one.

Is this because people really are not sure which way to go any more? It is easier in that case to stay where you are.

Nick, I'm sure Reid would love to run for leader, I mean... he never likes to have the same job for more than 12 months.
Could it be he fancies being the new PM knowing the next Labour PM would only be in power until the next Gerneral Election?

John Reid has said that he wouldn't announce his intentions either way until a vacancy arose. I'm still gunning for John Reid to take up the challenge with Margaret Becket in tow for the Deputy Leadership. Perhaps your asking the question will encourage him to enter, or he may just be soaking up the flattery. Who knows? Life is a mystery.
