Laura is Twittering from the party conferences
A promotional word from my colleague Laura Kuenssberg, who so ably stood in for me over the summer:
"I'm going to be covering this year's party conferences in a number of ways - obviously on the ´óÏó´«Ã½ News channel throughout the next few weeks, but also for the first time on Twitter too. If you'd like to follow my updates, you can do so via this page: . You don't need a Twitter account to read my updates on that page, but if you want one (they're free), you can get one there by clicking the "Join today" box.

I'd be interested to know what you think of this, so either send me a message via Twitter - I'm @´óÏó´«Ã½LauraK - or you can add a comment at the bottom of this entry.

I'd far rather read Laura's thoughts on this blog. Not that I'd want to see Nick banished, of course, but I assume there is no technical reason why more than one person can't contribute to the blog?

The ´óÏó´«Ã½ is wasting talent by letting Laura drift away to the edges. A string of short observations is no substitute for a well-argued column. Mind you, with Nick dashing to Europe last week, and off to the VIP Lounge, Heathrow today, all we get from him is snatches of thought. Does this suggest that a big pile of ministers, civil servants and journalists are off on another jolly? I suppose they have salved their consciences by offsetting their carbon consumption or some such nonsense. Do they have no sense? I'm sure I heard the ghastly drone of Blair on Today this morning. I think he had jetted somewhere to discuss how to cut CO2. I'd begin to despair - but I began doing that ten years ago, so I've nearly finished now.
