Wembley is poised to play a much bigger role in the organisation of the 2012 Olympics than originally planned.

大象传媒 London has learned that London 2012 officials have been looking for some time at scrapping their original plans to build a temporary arena near to the 02 to stage badminton and rhythmic gymnastics.

There had been proposals to move the two sports to ExCel indoor arena, which is already staging a variety of 2012 events, but there is not enough space.

Now officials are seriously looking at taking badminton back to the Wembley Arena, a spiritual home for the sport. The prestigious All-England championships were staged at the arena - which is right next to the outdoor stadium - between 1957 and 1993.

Olympic Green Archery Field

A bit like the sailors at currently windless Qingdao, Britain's medal tally has hit the doldrums over the last couple of days.

There was concern this first week was going to be slow, and to be honest, so it has proved.

Apart from the swimmers, who've had a great Olympics, and the cycling team who will undoubtedly be Britain's biggest providers, there's been disappointment elsewhere.

Nothing out of judo, diving, badminton, tennis, shooting - and now archery, where I've been spending my time over the last few days.

Archery had a target of two medals, and managed .

Let's add some context to that.

It's few hours after to Lee Hyojung and Lee Yongdae of South Korea and I'm obviously still gutted about losing, but then you've got to feel proud of yourself because the pair that we played were awesome and we couldn't have done any more.

They were quicker, more consistent, had a great game plan and didn't let us into the game.

And then of course you've got all the emotions about the , because you want to do the country really proud and you want to get medals, and also the fact it's probably my last match.

Watching the warm up is exhausting in itself.

A bit of "keepy-uppy" is followed by what can only be described as a frenetic synchronised dance.

It's only then that the fencing-like begins.

are paramount as the shuttlecock whistles over the net in a blur of rackets.

Three weeks to go until the Olympics start - and you won't believe it, but I've got a horrendous cold! It's actually got worse over the last few days - I can't even breathe properly, but I'm on antibiotics so hopefully that'll cure me.

It's been a while since I last blogged, so let me just update you on what's been happening. At the end of April I went on holiday to Goa with my boyfriend Ed - 10 days of sun, really hot, lovely beach, really chilled out, and once I got back, we got straight into our 12-week programme of Olympic training.

If I asked you to name me three of the six British badminton players going to the Beijing Olympics, I reckon you would get stuck at two.

Most people could quite quickly come up with Gail Emms and Nathan Robertson, Britain's mixed doubles silver medallists from four years ago in Athens.

But arguably Britian's best medal prospects for Beijing are the other doubles pairing of Donna Kellogg and Anthony Clark.

Welcome to our Olympics and Paralympics blog, which we are launching as the countdown to the begins in earnest.

Wednesday marks exactly 100 days to go to the 8 August opening ceremony (though oddly enough the football tournament starts two days earlier).

One of the uncertainties at the moment from a British perspective is whether the Games will turn out to be a triumph - or a failure. My view is...

I'm playing in my final Olympics in Beijing.

I won the mixed doubles silver medal with Nathan Robertson in Athens four years ago and the world championship in 2006.

Away from badminton, one of my guiltiest pleasures is eating cheese.

I support Tottenham, enjoy watching DVDs and would love to travel round South America.
