Value for money from Jonathan Ross
Iain Dale (prominent Conservative and possessor of an excellent surname for anyone who wants to keep an online diary) has suggested I should be putting in a freedom of information request to the ´óÏó´«Ã½ about the amount of money we are paying to Jonathan Ross. Not one for me, I think.
Still, Iain's blog (which is always worth reading) seems to have been kept by Ross's interview with David Cameron on Friday night, so it looks like Iain at least is getting good value for his licence fee from JR.
If you watched the interview you'll know that at one point it seemed like Ross himself was about to spill the beans on the full details of his latest contract, in which case no FOI request would have been needed.

Well how about putting in an FOI request to the English Cricket Board to ask how many people are watching live cricket coverage now they have sold the rights to Sky (in breach of a previous understanding with the government)? Or if not to them, then perhaps to the government department responsible - I assume it's the department of culture, media and sport...
I've been a fan or JR for a long time, and his remarks are usually witty and intelligent, so I was very sorry to hear him say on last Friday's show, the non-existent word 'deteriated'. It's an error usually used by pretentious people with a poor education, such as members of the royal family, and it's a shame that Jonathan didn't do his homework. The word is 'deteriorated', despite the imaginary word used by JR, as well as the cast of Casualty, Eastenders, etc.
